Great experience

Melanie M on Apr 11, 2025

The activities coordinator Guadalupe was great. Very engaging and so friendly. She had us playing bingo and taking part in all the activities around the pool. It made our experience so much better. Would d...efinitely recommend the resort and her.

Great Time at Buenaventura Grand

Nahshon G on Apr 11, 2025

We stayed at Buenaventura Grand in early April 2025 and overall had a really enjoyable time at this boutique all inclusive—with a few hiccups worth mentioning. We originally booked through Alaska Airlines... app, choosing an “Ocean View” room with balcony photos that showed beautiful water views. Upon arrival, the room we were given faced the street and looked nothing like what was on Alaska Airlines app. Fortunately, the front desk staff were very understanding and we were able to upgrade to room #1446 for an additional $460 USD, which came with orange bracelets granting access to the Sky Bar and other perks. That room had a gorgeous view, was clean, newly renovated, and had a firm but comfortable bed. Housekeeping was excellent—cleaning twice daily, restocking towels, and even mopping sand from the floor. Top notch team. The resort itself is small, which we loved—everything was within easy walking distance, and it never felt overly crowded. It’s not a luxury experience, but it does offer a laid-back and friendly atmosphere with great views and direct access to the beach. Just note: the beach right out front has a lot of rocks, so bring water shoes or walk a little south for smoother sand. The pools were nice but on the smaller side and often filled with kids—understandable for a family-friendly resort, but maybe not ideal for an adults-only getaway. That said, the vibe was relaxed, even during spring break. Poolside service was overall excellent depending on the time of day, but the staff were generally kind and hard-working. Food was decent and what you’d expect from an all-inclusive buffet: repetitive but with enough variety to find something you like. Breakfast at the buffet was our favorite, and for dinner we mostly stayed on-site and booked reservations at the two restaurants. The food at both was delicious, and the view at the Sunset restaurant in particular was absolutely incredible—definitely a highlight of our stay. One party member has dietary restrictions, and the chefs did their best to accommodate their GF/DF needs, which we really appreciated. The location is also great—just a short walk to the Malecon and Romantic Zone if you want to explore beyond the resort. Not everything was perfect—there were a few odd maintenance issues (like random drops in water pressure during showers), and the concierge does push excursions a bit—but all in all, we had a great time. We’d come back, especially for a short, relaxed stay with kids or friends. Just set your expectations right, maybe budget for an upgrade, check that the room being advertised matches the room you are getting, and enjoy the beachside charm and walkable location.
