PLEASE STAY AWAY!!! Worst experience ever.

874ludmilag (Calgary, Canada) on Sep 29, 2024

Too bad I can’t give 0*. Stay away from this hotel if you don’t want to waist your time until they find you a clean room, ruin your stay, celebration, etc. Don’t spend your money on them. This hotel rated as 5* but there is nothing to make it look like that. I will give 0.5 just because the Japanese restaurant, the servers were welcome, joyful, and nice show. Also, credit also for the European express on the second day we eat there, because the first day we had the rudest server I met in my life. Now let’s start why I will rate this hotel 0* and will never recommend to anybody. I will definitely let my booking agent to remove from her list of travel destination. Welcome was ok, I upgraded the room to the ocean view building, and the rooms are outdated dirty. They welcome us with a room full of flies and garbage from a couple days, dirty reusable bottles, and many more. They moved us to another room, which was full of mold, dirty and outdated furniture. Little bugs running on the table. At my question, can we be moved to a 5* room because that’s what we paid for it. I have been told that’s best they can offer us. The room service are horrible. We had to call many times for towel change that never happened. The vent in the bathroom/washroom was not working. I feel like this hotel is definitely not for international people. Lots of local, 99.9% of staff do not speak English. (Practice your Spanish well before booking this hotel) We had to be kicked out from room in the morning to be sprayed for pesticides, we have been visited by a huge spider that the front desk in 3 hours did not even bother to come to deal with it after I call and let them know that we have a spider in the tab a night before. Stay away from the Mexican restaurant. No one speaks English, we have been treated the worst. I have dietary restrictions, and the chef came to ask me about it and still make the wrong way.  They made it a second time and still put guacamole that contains lime. They still made me pay 46$ for food I couldn’t eat. My appetizer did not even come out. My sisters main dish did not come out. They could let me know that they can’t accommodate and I  could go to the buffet and find something to eat, instead of waiting 2 hours in their restaurant and still be hungry. The beach umbrellas and chairs are molded and dirty. The beach is ok but for 5* hotel could be way much better. The pool water was slimy, not a pleasure to swim in it. Watch your feet there are little blue tiles where missing from the pool floor and you could play find a blue tile floating in the water ??. The pond was smelling so badly, you louse your appetite walking by in the morning to go to the buffet. Go around the building to avoid the smell and enjoy your breakfast I will stop here, other ways will be a very long story. See some pictures how a 5*hotel looks J

Not recommended.... Hotel promises a lot and has many stars ?? for the quality it actually is when you are there. Not good!!!!!

The food and beverage service people are very rude and serve you in a bad mood. Even if they show you a friendly face, it's just so you forget the bad time you had. We weren't the only ones with discrimination and attention, since many people were denied entry and service in the steak restaurants ?? ???? I don't recommend coming to this place... They lie with what they offer in the media....

Great family trip

Mdmcmahon24 (Portland, Oregon) on Sep 11, 2024

Where to begin! I was very impressed with the property and staff here. I had never stayed at an Iberostar before and I had no idea what to expect except for the nearby town that I had been to previously. Security is on it, we felt safe, they call the desk to let anyone on the property and check their reservations. The property itself was clean and beautiful, I would say the rooms appear a little basic/dated but a few small changes would fix that. The housekeepers did a great job and brought whatever we needed. The food was quite good, I was not sure what the buffets would be like, but I was pleasantly surprised with the options available. The themed restaurants were also fun, it was nice that the only place you needed a reservation was the Asian one which is due to the teppanyaki-style meal with a "chef show". My family is vegan and they had a decent amount of options for meals at the buffet and restaurants, Chef Luis was kind enough to check on them and make sure they were taken care of as far as food. Jesus the server in the buffet made sure my husband and I never had an empty glass and were well-fed, we enjoyed his kindness very much. I did not have a single disappointing interaction with the staff but I feel like the real stars at the resort are the bartenders, they were delightful and hilarious. They really made our stay so much fun! Jose, Manuel and Gerardo were usually the bartenders we had the pleasure of chatting and laughing with and they made really tasty beverages, I think my favorite was the Mono Sucio or dirty monkey. Pedro and Vicente were also great but we had less time with them. Everyone at the pool bar was just great! Muchas gracias amigos! The dance classes were fun and they had several group activities in the pool area for kids and adults which were entertaining. The karaoke and trivia nights were a blast as well. As far as feedback I would say they really need a shaded area in the pool other than the pool bar. It was really hot out the whole week and the only place to be in the shade was near the swim-up seats which made it crowded and brought children in that area which was already maxed out. I feel like a nice shady spot at the opposite end of the pool or the more shallow "shelf" would be perfect especially for the kids to play in and not splash water into the adult beverages. I would also say the shows were lacking, I feel like they were more for children which is fine but just not what we were looking for.

You must go!

Kimberly L on Sep 10, 2024

If you are a member of the chain resort then you must come here (even if you are not) it’s my first time here, I got kindly invited here with my friend who has family as members. They treat you like family!! As soon as you walk in you are checked on upon to assist with your bags and so on. If you are a member you must go to the jacuzzi and reserve a time with the bartenders JUAN CARLOS AND EDDISON (!!!). Juan Carlos will make you the most famous fabulous mojitos and Eddison has this Jicama drink that’s so refreshing. They also just MAKE the vibe there they ARE the vibe. But if you’re not a member the views, the food, and the service is equally as fabulous. AND THE VIEWS! prettiest sunsets you will ever see. The ocean you will never want to get out of it. Actually, you will never want to leave the resort. If you are booking a wine testing you must do it with Jose Saucedo! Even after testing and till your trip ends he will make sure you have the right wine with your dinner. Def will be coming back here even without being a member myself. If you go, please make sure you tip! Safe travels.
