The staff and workers are very kind. It is the second time in this hotel and we have only had beautiful experiences. The animation team with Yuliana, Maria Reyes, Rene The Rock and Fredy allow you to have ...a very good vacation. The service and food are at a very high level, I would especially like to single out the waiter Jeral Carvajal.
Loved the Entertainment Squad????

Always happy to talk to you. They were incredible! I will miss those people so much.
Overrated. Overall disappointing but with good bits.

Brace yourself if you're reading this....it's going to be a long review! I originally posted a review on day 3 of our 2 week holiday and I've deleted it and started again; mainly to offer more detail, and ...secondly to give the hotel a fair review in mentioning all the plus points too. If you can't be bothered to read the whole novel, top line is....if you're looking for a relaxing, quiet holiday with flawless service and top quality food across the board, this isn't for you. Save your money and go to Mauritius where we've been countless times and it's phenomenal. If you're after a bit of a party time with around the clock music, activities, drinks a plenty, variable service and mediocre food (but great coffee!) - then this could be your bag. Don't get me wrong, there are lots of plus points to this hotel, and I'll list them below. It just wasn't for us. Far too noisy and the food was a disappointment overall. We stayed in an Enclave room on the 3rd floor (pool view), just for context. We are 40 years old and from the UK. PROS The beach is stunning. The water is clear, sand is clean and general appearance is beautiful. Plenty of pelicans, crabs, fish and the odd brown moray eel if you fancy a spot of wildlife. We spent most of our time on the beach as it was much quieter, even on the family side. The party boats that come in and out to the left of the enclave area of the beach can be noisy but overall, it's much better down by the sea due to the lack of music. The only exception is the daily Zumba class (at noon) in the sea which I have to say is great fun and loads of people got involved- would recommend as a workout whilst being able to stay cool. Just remember a hat! Visually, the whole resort is lovely. Well kept gardens, clean walkways and low rise buildings. Well set out and plenty of places to sit. Only gripe is the balconies on the upper floors are pathetically small. The pizzeria near the family pool was brilliant. Freshly made pizzas from 12 - 17:30 everyday in a proper wood fired oven. Avoid the Italian restaurant and just get your Italian food fix here, very nice. Some of the staff were great. Johanna at the adults only bar was smilely, friendly and always remembered what drinks we liked. The lady (sorry I didn't catch her name!) at the main bar in the family pool side was also excellent. The pool scene (if only it was quiet!) is lovely. Fairly clean, plenty of beds, big pools and well stocked bars. Everywhere is well designed and laid out. Nice to see designated, separate smoking areas. No limitation on drinks (of any type) at all. Freeflowing, gererous and tasty. No complaints at all on this front. An excellent selection. Nice spiced hot chocolate at breakfast too randomly! Coffee shops are great and open 7am - 11pm (not 24 hours as TUI misadvertise!) Great air con in rooms. Gym was well equipped and never too busy. Would have been nice to have cool towels and chilled water but overall good. Plenty of activities. I did yoga, aqua Zumba, aqua biking, aqua boxing and more...great fun by enthusiastic staff. Always something to do on this front. CONS Biggest downside for us was the noise! From 9am there was loud music everywhere. Every lobby, pool and bar....so annoying. Usually there is at least one quiet pool where you can read a book in peace....but not here! Very disappointing. We also witnessed 2 other people ask for the pool music to be turned down and they were told no. We had a pool facing room, which was definitely a mistake. Music should be half the volume. The variable food. I am vegetarian and there was really limited options in the a la carte restaurants. More details on each restaurant below. Rooms on floor 3 have little acoustic attenuation between the rooms and as our neighbours on one side were drunken loud mouths, we were regularly disturbed at all hours by them. Also note, if you have any form of mobility restrictions, there are no lifts in any building. My husband had to lug our cases down all 4 flights of stairs and across the resort as no one came to collect our bags on departure (as promised). Fail. Don't even both with the casino - it's terrible. The spa was lovely but very expensive. As in $185 for a massage expensive. As Enclave guests we were apparently supposed to have our own 'butler'. The was news to us from a few other couples on our penultimate day and we never heard from anyone so missed out here! Some of the staff are really miserable and this was a shame. Others (particularly the Playa team) would not leave you alone; trying to sell time shares - very irritating. RESTAURANTS BUFFET - There was always plenty to eat at the buffet restaurants. The adults only side is open for breakfast and lunch and the buffet restaurant in the family side is always open for dinner too. The Indian flavours night was great and the tandoori naan was amazing! Plenty of fresh meat and fish too if that's your bag and more bread, salad and desserts that you could ever need. Had some good meals here. Service in the adults only side was often poor (particualry by the hosts) but the family side one was good or very good every time. Main annoyance about the buffet restaurants is the most of the food is behind plexiglass and you have to wait to be served by someone and it can take time and you can't then choose which / or how much of each thing you'd like. Very frustrating. Around half of the food that should be hot was also tepid, which is also a shame as this impaired the quality and enjoyment on multiple occasions. COASTAL GRILL - This was a stunning location but the food was fairly poor. The only vegetarian option was a non-descript vegan burger that was a patty slapped in bread bun. No salad, no effort. Mine arrived still fully frozen! Sent it back and it came back deep fried and cremated. I didn't eat it. Went to the coffee shop and got a dessert instead after my husband finished his very fatty steak. We did not go back and others we spoke to had similar reviews. LA MOUSTACHE- The French restaurant was very good. We went a couple of times and my husband had a great steak both times. Service was very good (thank you Edvard!), wine was at a great temperature and flowed well. Veggie food was good. Onion soup and ratatouille were yum! Shame you can only sit outside on the deck if you order a bottle of wine off the non-inclusive wine list (and the prices were insane!). ITALIAN - DO NOT EAT HERE!!! This was the worst. Everyone we spoke to said the same. Funnily enough, my main course pasta in here was pretty good but friends and my husband were served reheated and tasteless slop. The jewel in the crown was when a RAT ran out from under a large seat and under our tablecloth!!! Ruined the night. We left before finishing. NOOR - This was pretty good, despite hearing mixed reviews from others. Decent food, fair service. More mosquitoes here than the fully indoor eateries so did not return. PERUVIAN - Also very good. Great service and tasty food. Would recommend. SAKURA. Ah, Sakura. A tale of 2 halves. Thanks to them, I have now tasted pork for the first time. As a vegetarian, I was not impressed! This was an error on their part when I ordered tofu gyoza. Shocking. The service was painfully slow and not very enthusiastic. Well decorated and decent menu but mixed reviews from friends. Tofu gyoza were delicious when they got it right. Didn’t try the other restaurants as they had nothing for me to eat. Heard Chinola was good if you like BBQ meat and a lively vibe. Funnily enough, to say we usually prefer adults only, we did spend a fair amount of time in the family side as it was oddly quieter and kids are often not loud, rude and obnoxious (with smoking and phones on speakers for added bonusues - grrrr) like some of the adults we encountered! Saying that though, we did meet a few great couples whilst we were away - from the States, UK, Spain and Brazil. Shout out to Tanise and Chris! (Jason).
