The El Dorado Royale will be renovating their restaurant La Isla starting January 9 and is expected to be completed by February 9, 2018. The renovations will not impede guest amenities and all other facilities will remain open.

Disappointing Experience During Our Wedding Week My wife and I chose El Dorado Royale / Casitas Royale to host our wedding and honeymoon from May 14–23, 2025. We were excited to celebrate such a special m...oment at a resort known for its luxury and service. Unfortunately, our experience was marked by repeated issues that caused unnecessary stress for us and our guests. Candlelight Dinner Rescheduled Without Notice: A romantic candlelight dinner we had pre-arranged was rescheduled without informing us, disrupting one of our most anticipated honeymoon experiences. Room Safety and Quality Concerns: My brother and his fiancée discovered a large hole punched through their door. While they were eventually moved, the situation was alarming and unacceptable. My sister also had to change rooms due to a strong odor in her original suite. Injury Near the Pool Area: I stepped on a nail that was lodged in the grass near the pool. It was painful and could have seriously impacted our wedding day. The fact that such a hazard existed in a high-traffic area is deeply concerning and reflects poorly on the resort’s safety protocols. Food: 2/5 — The food was inconsistent, with some meals falling well below expectations, especially for a resort that markets itself as gourmet-inclusive. Shuttle Service: 1/5 — Our experience with the shuttle service was chaotic and poorly organized, especially when coordinating arrivals and departures for wedding guests. Good luck waiting 15-25 minutes per shuttle. Wedding Coordinator: 1/5 — Communication was minimal and disorganized. As a couple planning a destination wedding, we expected much more guidance and professionalism. Instead, we often felt like we were managing the details ourselves or family members assistance. Lack of Empathy from Management: After sharing these concerns, the resort’s response was cold and dismissive. We weren’t looking for handouts—just accountability. Instead, we were offered a spa voucher for a future stay we don’t plan to take. While there were some beautiful moments, the overall experience left us feeling disappointed and frustrated. I would not recommend this resort for a wedding or any other special event unless major changes are made.

attended a family wedding at this resort and was honestly shocked at how poorly things were handled. After spending a lot of money to travel and stay here, I expected basic hospitality — but that’s not wha...t we got. Staff were often rude and dismissive, room service was nonexistent, and many of us had issues with AC not working or no hot water in our rooms. Even guests who made restaurant reservations in advance were turned away, which made meals frustrating and unpredictable. There were food service issues at multiple wedding events, which makes the host look bad, even if it isn't in their control. That kind of mistake is completely unacceptable. This resort may look beautiful, but the service was nowhere near the standard you'd expect from a wedding venue — especially one charging this much. It was really disappointing to see such a special occasion mishandled like this.
