Truly Amazing Experience at Fairmont Mayakoba!

Frank M on Mar 27, 2025

We had an incredible stay at Fairmont Mayakoba! The service was top-notch, and the experience at Tauro restaurant was unforgettable. The atmosphere, food, and attention to detail made it truly special. We ...also loved participating in the artisan activities, such a unique experience! A big thank you to Enzo for informing us about these activities and making our stay even more memorable. Highly recommend!

Back from our 12th visit, Fairmont Mayakoba is still special!

Inspire11229850356 (Kitchener, Canada) on Mar 27, 2025

We again enjoyed a memorable visit, and we were fortunate to have perfect weather for the duration of our stay. We were upgraded to a beach area suite as part of the Accor awards program and appreciated t...he assistance of our butlers Edgar and Joyce. They did there best to address any questions we had and did so with a smile. We spent most of our time at the beach during this visit. We enjoyed the clear, warm water and sunshine. There was a little sargassum in the water on one day of our stay, but as always it was quickly cleaned up. While the Fairmont is the biggest of the resorts at Mayakoba, there are plenty of pools, and spaces to spread out. The hotel was at capacity during our stay and other than one day where beach service was a bit slow, we never had issues finding a palapa at the beach or space at restaurants. The beach club pool as other reviewers have stated, is a beautiful space and gets busy with kids. It’s unfortunate that some guests monopolize the space with toys and diving into the pool. Perhaps it should be an adult pool. We wrote a detailed review after our 10th visit in June of 2023 so I won’t repeat everything from that review as it still holds true: -it was great to see new shuttle carts that are more comfortable than before. -the resort is very clean with beautifully kept grounds. Housekeeping is excellent and common areas continue to be very well maintained. -take in a cocktail mixology class at Cielo. Cesar was a patient teacher. -don’t miss the boat tour. Juan Carlos was very knowledgeable. -we enjoyed the water taxi service between the Mayakoba resorts. It was a great way to get to dinner at Rosewood one evening. Tip -do a little homework in advance of your stay to get the most out of your experience. Fairmont and Mayakoba websites have plenty of images, maps and virtual views. A few quibbles we did find during this stay: -the water at the main adult pool was colder than we experienced in our previous stays. That wasn’t a big issue for us as the sea was calm and warm. -the hotel needs to better communicate restaurant closures and hours. Even our butler was not made aware of a closure where we had an open table reservation. The issue was quickly resolved. -Brisas closed at 8pm while the website shows 10pm. A later closure would make it a better choice for dinner. -wi-fi could be improved at the beach as it’s spotty. We’d like to recognize several staff members that stood out during this visit. Service very good overall and staff do their best to help. I hope I have the correct spelling: -Emilio at Hix lobby bar provided quick service and a familiar smile when we arrived. Areli took good care of us too. -Edy at Laguna restaurant was engaging and recognized our repeat visit. We’ve known Edy for years and it’s nice to see the resort has a number of long-term staff. -Jorge at the beach was the first to great us almost every day. Antonio, Gilberth and Marcos work hard to look after beach guests. -Kennet at the Brisas bar made us feel welcome at lunch and was happy to customize drinks for us. -our experience at Tauro was exceptional. We went twice for dinner. Cocktail lovers should get there early to spend some time at the bar. The drinks are top shelf and creative. Isreal and Ulises took pride in explaining Mexican liquors and made us feel welcome. Dinner service was perfect with Sebastian and Eric. Leaving at the end of another great stay is bittersweet. We hope to be back again!
