The worst vacation
Marina J on May 06, 2025
It was the worst vacation in my life. I don't like food, people mean. For upgrade room they charge as 1400$.Never this resort again. Ocean with weeds and stones not safe at all. Security at the pool took o...ur stuff, because we didn't not showing in 30 min.
Would definitely go back

This was our favorite resort we have been to, and we have been to at least a dozen. The grounds are so clean and beautiful!! The food was great and the pool is huge!! We loved everything about it, and th...e wildlife - the flamingoes were my favorite, how they prance through the lobby - so fun!! The resort is huge, so a lot of walking and it is hard to get reservations at the a la carts, the Mediterranean was amazing!!! The buffets had great selection, we give 5 stars and would definitely go back!!
Fabulous but be aware of a few limitations

Lovely resort with great staff, beautiful location and grounds, much fun to be had, and good all-inclusive food. The only reason it gets a 4 rather than a 5 is that the resort app, which is necessary for ...booking restaurants and activities, functions terribly when it's working at all. Also, the specialty restaurants are substandard (we tried the Japanese (hibachi) and Italian (yuck)). Luckily the main buffet was quite good, and we could always find good fresh food there. The Kids Club (Star Club) is spectacular, and likely to keep us coming back for years. The beach was maintained very well, very clean. Not enough chairs at beach & pool, no surprise there. Access to free sail boats, paddle boards, & kayaks. Be sure to watch the YT video regarding the access limitations at this Iberostar resort. "Del Mar" has the most restricted access, meaning among other things: you would have to pay more for access to the wave pool & water slides, except for kids that are going to the Star Club (which is free).
Great experience for couples golf beach resort holiday!

This was our second visit to the property. Our first visit was early Dec 2023 and there was a lot of renovations going on, and was just an OK visit, but we found this visit had many improvements from that... stay. We stayed in block 18 which was a good location for us being closer to lobby (easier to and from golfing). The proximity bracelet instead of key card was a nice improvement. The buildings all appear to have all been painted as was the interior of our room. The reupholstered furniture is now more indoor/outdoor fabric so tolerates wet and cleans better. The shower was great - no problem with not water or pressure. Lower points which were not an issue for us was bed was very firm (hard!) and fridge was not cold. We liked the change to a mixture of reservation and non-reservation based a-la-cartes. We don't care for planning our meals ahead - so ate at non-reservation restaraunts (or buffet). If a wait is required, you get an estimate for wait and give them your cell number and will get a text when ready. Our meals and service were good with a pleasant surprise of plant based options at the Mexican (textured soy tacos!). We also really like the addition of lunch and snacks at the Rock Cafe. As much as I love wildlife, in 2023 it seemed all the wildlife was overgrown and existing on a bad North American diet. A lot of that seems to have since been addressed and the coati in particular were much healthier and happier on this visit. With the great weather loungers at the pool were difficult to find but we always managed to find something in the afternoon after returning from golf. One pool downside was the weirdness of no “dry” pool bar, just a swim up bar. The lobby bars (Beach and Del Mar) had great service. Beach a little more lively and Del Mar generally quieter so we split our time between them. Final comment - overall service was good and friendly and the property kept very clean. Planning on returning in 2026!
Beautiful Resort but beware of tour salesman operating on the beach

We had a wonderful time at this resort. The bed was really comfortable and the cleaning staff was exceptional. Everyday we came back to a towel decoration on our bed. We loved that there were water station...s right outside our room. The resort is huge with many restaurants and buffets. There is wildlife throughout the resort and paths to everything. Its very jungle like and beautiful. There is a gym and tons of activities. We did zumba as well as yoga on the beach in the morning. The pool is huge but the only problem is trying to get a chair at the pool or on the beach. Getting reservations for the a la cartes is no easy task either. Please avoid booking tours from operators on the beach. We did that and they cancelleed because of bad weather and then we never received a refund. We recommend booking through the concierge in the lobby. Other than that we had a great time and recommend this resort.
