I’m gonna start by saying this resort was meh. It want terrible, but it also wasn’t the best. The room was okay, online stated we would get an entirely different room from what we got, but it was a better ...room. I’m sure this is a rare occurrence. The way they differentiate if you’re 18+ or not is with bracelets. Each hotel/resort has a different one. If you want to buy things in store, you hav to have the 18+ bracelet. It’s either through card payments or charge to your room and pay at the end of your trip. The towels in the bathroom are scratchy. The pool would have to be the best part, and the nearby locations of buffets was nice so we could eat whenever. HOWEVER, the quality of the food was not good. It was basic and the taste of the food was okay. There were unique options, and the best part was the ice cream cones. The restaurants were the best parts for food, however, the workers were not very happy or enjoyable with giving service. We only had a couple of happy servers. Around the resort, there were smells of sewage. My sink drain had the smell of sewage. Be careful as your room may have leaks from the upper floor making bubbles in the ceiling. There were not many events for people to do, so you may have to plan accordingly and figure out what there is. The resorts pretty large, so plan to be walking a lot. I made a lot of memories with friends, mostly around the pool. The pool is very large, so it won’t get packed. I HIGHLY recommend waking up at 6 am to get chairs, or go very late at night as they won’t be available. I highly recommend the beach as well, the view is awesome. This resort definitely gives tropical vibes. I highly recommend excursions, so plan on booking those as well. Also, be very careful not to lose your room key. You will be charged for your room key if you lost them.Overall, this resorts fine, but for senior spring break, I’d look into other options.

The buffet could of been a little better food and service wise other then that it was amazing there at the hotel

This resort has something for everybody. My partner and I brought our 2 college age boys and their girlfriends during Spring Break. We specifically wanted to avoid typical sping break craziness and were ...assured the resort does not allow spring breakers. This was not entirely true as they were allowed with guardians. It was not a problem, there were a good number of young adults there but there was not an overwhelming party atmosphere. The food at the buffets was very good and the food at the a la carte restaurants was much better than at other all inclusives I have visited. The wifi was excellent throughout the property and was very much appreciated by all. This resort has an amazing pool area with friendly and entertaining staff offering classes/shows throughout the day. There was truly something for everyone and it fit our needs perfectly as we hoped it would. The only downside is that lounge chairs get reserved VERY early so I was getting up at 6am to make sure our family had a place to sit for the day. Other than that, this was a fantastic experience.

We had a wonderful trip to the Barcelo Tropical. My kids loved all the fun activities to do at the reworked.And they had a blast playing in the surf on the beach.

It is a nice place, very nice view, the beach is awsome. But we really felt that, beside the room, ther is no real advantage for the premium guests. The breakfast is the same, the lunch is the same, and th...e beverages are the same. The staff it is not prepared to serve diferent drinks or anything better for the level premum guests.
