Amazing service and did great when hurricane came through. Still working on the app to work out kinks. Best service with champagne daily and guest services. White party and plaza was fun for ages! Loved the on site photographer and photo opportunities.
Family friendly resort with issues to address

Royalton Splash was a nice resort for our family and we really enjoyed our week at the resort. There was plenty to do to satisfy our daughters (19 and 16), and we were able to relax and unwind for the week. The pools were nice and the staff were always willing to help out. If you want good seats at the pools then be prepared to wake up and get to the pools by 6:30 am, then wait for towel service to start at 7 so you can lay down towels with your stuff on your chairs. Then go get breakfast or take a nap in the room. By 8 all the chairs at the pools were generally taken so good luck! We stayed in a Diamond Club room and our butlers Daniel and Alejandro were a great help in all of our requests. Daniel especially took care of us and made sure we never wanted for anything. We enjoyed the Diamond Club pool and lounge, but frankly didn't find them to be enough of a higher level experience that we might book another Diamond Club room in the future. The water park was great for families since it gives everyone something to do besides just laying by the pool or on the beach. The slides were a lot of fun and our kids really enjoyed them. One thing to note, though, is that some of the slides are designated for only small children so our teens weren't able to use them. There were plenty of other slides for them, but the "funnel" slide was one they were most looking forward to and it was only for younger children. There were also plenty of pool and beach activities during the day to keep adults and children interested. From pool volleyball to aqua aerobics there was a lot to do besides just laying around. Our biggest disappointment of the trip was the restaurants. The food in the buffet was pretty good and plentiful, but the restaurant foods weren't anything special at all. Taj - the Indian restaurant - was the standout restaurant of our trip. The food there was different, flavorful, and amazing. Even our daughters, who have never had Indian food and were pretty worried about what they might eat there, agreed that Taj was their favorite restaurant on property. At other restaurants it often felt like the food was the same that we could get from the buffet or even the food trucks. If you ever get a steak be prepared for it to be well done despite how you request it to be cooked. Our restaurants in order from best to worst were Taj, Agave, Score, Zen, Grazie, Rio, and finally The Cave. Another thing that was disappointing was maintenance. For a property that is only 1 1/2 years old there were a lot of maintenance issues. Ceilings in walkways with paint and plaster falling off them, cushions on our balcony with split covers and stains, tiles missing from pools, and stains on the couch in our room. We also don't think that the sheets in our room were actually changed after the prior guest, as when we went to bed the first night there was sand and strings at the foot of the bed between the bed sheet and top sheet. Would we go back to Royalton Splash? Probably not. Was it worth going once? Yes. There are better adults only all inclusive properties that we'd love to return to, but we chose Royalton Splash since we were bringing our children and the water park would give them something to do. They now can't wait to be old enough to go to some of the adults only properties we've visited and loved in the past!
