Where do I begin? This vacation was a 10/10 and it all began at Bahía Principe Grand Coba. The service we received was nothing short of impeccable. We arrived late due to a flight delay and missed our dinner reservation. When we finally made it to the hotel, we were greeted in the warmest manner and made to feel so at home. It was such a relief to have arrived and been received so kindly. They realized quickly we had not eaten all day and accommodated us for their New Year’s Eve dinner IMMEDIATELY, which included lobster, by the way, holding our bags at the reception desk to avoid us having to go all the way to our rooms first. When we were ready, they drove us right to the door of our villa. The room! …the room was spotless, and very comfortable! Our housekeepers really went above and beyond each day, and it was our home away from home all week. We had a little trouble with our AC but used the app to call maintenance and they were right over to take care of it. Turns out, we didn’t know how to use it, but they didn’t make us feel dumb, so that was a plus. Haha. The buffet…ok, let me start by saying that at first, we thought the food was just ok. Not bad, but not great. Mind you, we had been eating at the end of the meal sessions each time, but we finally made it to breakfast at 7am when they opened, and it made ALL the difference! The food was great!! Everything we had was absolutely delicious! So we started eating all our meals at the beginning and it was amazing! Completely changed our entire vacation! The Kids Club! We were super skeptical about leaving our 6 year old there with strangers, but we kept seeing the kids throughout the resort and decided to check it out. Our son instantly connected with the young ladies there and wanted to stay. These ladies did a wonderful job with all the kids. Our son almost didn’t want to leave the resort because he loved it so much! They even sent pictures throughout the day of him enjoying all the activities and were very communicative, sending messages and updates. They have activity after activity, and even put on a show in the theater with the kids starting in it! It was so cute, and so well done! We truly enjoyed it all. The resort also put on some shows that were so worth watching. If you’re on the resort, you don’t want to miss them! The Urban Show was awesome!! We partook in massages at the spa, and the minute you walk in, it’s ZEN! It was beautiful, the ladies were fantastic and, again, so great! All in all, the service was incredible our entire stay. Everyone we came in contact with was so nice, warm, and welcoming! They were friendly and charming, and we already started looking into our next stay here. We can’t wait!
Family Christmas Trip

We stayed at the Bahía Príncipe Grand Coba for a week from Christmas over New Years. We checked in online 10 days in advance on the BP app so we could choose your a la cartes online before you arrive. Some restaurants were already “sold out” which was disappointing. We were a group in different rooms so we made sure to all book the same restaurant at the same time and, when we checked in at the front desk, we met with dinner reservations desk who made a note for us to be seated together at dinners. Minibus transfer was quick and direct to the hotel. We booked with WestJet Vacations- don’t forgot to book your transportation via the Nexus app- and extra step but better than a huge bus that made many stops. Buffet food was not to our liking but all of our à la carte dinners great. The buffet had variety but was not good. Usually, in a case like this, I can sustain myself on chips and pico de gallo/guacamole- but sadly the chips were cardboardy and terrible. Adding to my dismay was the buffet seemed to be missing hygiene protocols - no hand sanitizer/hand wash stations, no tongs for bread rolls, hand scoop ice cream where people’s knuckles were dragging on the surface of the ice cream - I know it’s a dice roll at any buffet but this one seemed unusually unappealing - in my opinion anyway. We did not eat breakfast. We ate our lunches at The Cantina- “food truck” by the smaller pool and it was also great. I really enjoyed the chicken burrito and the self serve ice cream machine! We only had 3 à la cartes included in our package but we were able to go to 2 restaurants without a reservation and ask for a “sommelier table” where we were able to get a table but at the cost of a bottle of wine. Recommend the Italian bubbly rosé but do NOT recommend the New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc! Liquor- fine. No premium that we could find. We managed ?? Pool- awesome but not heated- it was tough getting in at first but then was great and clean. The only inconvenience was the kids we were travelling with are small/thin so…. chattering cold most mornings and needed to sit wrapped in towels to warm up! Never ever had an issue finding chairs by the pool- sun or shade, lots of free chairs, any time of day- it was so nice! The service was excellent. Staff excellent. They are working hard- we tipped often and they deserved it. The resort did a really nice job with Christmas decorations and the New Year’s Eve party. Rooms clean, bed comfortable. Minibar restocked with 2 x1.5 L water, 2 beers, 3 pops daily. Bathroom had all hair amenities-dryer, shampoo, conditioner …..and washcloths (used to be a rare find at a resort!) Would we go back? I don’t think so. We were at a different resort last year that we felt was better value - particularly in terms of food and drink. But, for the right price, probably would return- on the bright side, no one in our party gained any weight over the week ?? We had a great family trip!
