Old outdate resort. Rude Staff. stay Away

Road43042379699 on Jul 10, 2024

Where do I begin. I haven't been here for one whole day, and I hate it already. I agree with many other reviewers regarding the condition of this hotel, the room, the rude staff (front desk and the staff that takes you around the resort in trolleys), the food options etc. I have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts. This has to be the worst of all. Please avoid staying here. 1. There was some mix up in my reservation. I was charged extra at the front desk. I didn't have an option but to pay because I am here with few other families, and we have booked several rooms here. The lobby is not air conditioned. It takes a long time to check in. There was some mix up in my reservation. The lobby is not air conditioned. It takes a long time to check in. 2. A long wait time to have the trolleys come and pick you up from the lobby. 3. Went for the lunch buffet. VERY few vegetarian options. All reviews regarding cross contamination and not proper labeling of food are absolutely true. The staff doesn't speak English. I asked so many people working in the buffet about vegetarian options, the only answer I get is "NO", not because there are none, but because they just don't speak English. Vegetarian items are not even marked with a green label or a dot which is a pretty standard practice at good resorts and buffets. There are not enough tongs, serving spoons to get food. WHY? WHY can they not have one serving spoon or tong per item? There are 100% chances of cross contamination. Meat and vegetarian items are placed right next to each other. People would use the same serving ware for both, because there are not enough per dish. We got made to cook pasta. They literally added pasta to the sauce and handed it to me. Didn't even toss it in the pan, didn't add any veggies. 4. Came to the room, just to find out that the AC is not working. I called the front desk, waited for 15-20 minutes. The maintenance person showed up and said that the AC is not working. He told me that he will talk to the reception, and that I should wait to hear back from reception. 30 minutes passed, and there is no call from the reception desk. The room was very hot by now. I called the front desk (0 on the phone), and they said that they are not reception desk and that they don't have any contact with the maintenance person. This is utter nonsense. I asked them to sync with the reception and let me know what my options are. Finally, they said that they will move be to a different building (away from the rest of the family), because that's the only room they had available. They asked me to pack everything in the room and wait for a staff member to take me and kids to the new room. So, again, I waited for someone to come to my room and bring the key to the new room. The person took me to a different room in the same building on the same floor. I was a bit surprised. I asked him that the front desk told me that I am moving to a different building. The guy was so rude. He goes "you are moving because your AC is not working. NOT because you get a room with a view or ocean facing room or something like that". I was shocked! I told him that I wasn't expecting an ocean facing room either. I was just telling him what the front desk told me. He goes, go talk to the front desk then! My kids were done with all this non-sense by then. So, I took the room without much discussion. 5. We went to the lobby around 5 pm. There was a card with coconut. They said you have to pay for coconut water. It is not a part of "all Inclusive". Again, I have stayed at many all-inclusive resorts. None ask you to pay for stuff if it is really an all-inclusive facility. 6. We asked the front desk about our options for snacks/coffee etc. They said that the 2 snack areas they have are by the pool, and both are closed. So, our ONLY option was going to the buffet at 5.30p.m. For coffee, we can go to the lobby bar. they can make SOME coffee for us. What kind of property is this? They don't even have snacks or coffee available throughout the day? 7. We came back to the room. The room looks completely outdated. Lamp fixtures are falling apart. The AC vent has dust all over. This property just looks filthy. I am never staying here again, and definitely not recommending it to anyone. Lastly, I see that the staff responds to each and every review with apology and that they would look into the "issues". I really don't think that they do anything about these. IF they did, there won't be so many reviews complaining about the same items, the rooms, the staff and the food!. Pathetic hotel. Stay away

Overall great place for families

christinacec (Toronto, Canada) on Jul 10, 2024

Over all good hotel. Food was good with fish options in buffet. We have small kids so was easiest to do the buffet. Most days had a variety of options. I do remember a night where options were bare. Kids water park area was great. Esp for ages 2-10. We stayed there most of the time. Lots of chairs. Shuttles to the beach are quick. Beach was rocky in the water alittle. Rooms aren’t sleek or fancy but very clean. Everything worked but they do need an updating. Entertainment at night was great! Overall great value for a family!
