My husband and I were there only for one day and night to be transfer to lovely Melia Las Americas in Varadero. We booked Premium Ocean View and were highly disappointing. Someone mentioned in reviews abo...ut 'TOXIC GOOD" reviews. Yes. Indeed and agree. I followed those excellent reviews. Being in shock what we met there, I did not made picketers of the room: rusty bathtub, falling of wall painting, terrace doors unable to lock. That was Premium. Food: huge restrictions like in Covid times. No ham, no meat. Sunwing Rep is criticizing Melia Las Americas that they have much worse food... That is an insult. I understand that there are REPEATERS to this resort. They accept this and it is standard to Them. It is just their feeling and sympathy expressed in those reviews. So please consider those if you choose this hotel for Your First time. It is nothing to Varadero Beach: I agree that is good for snorkeling straight from the shore. Almost no one mentions that you have to extra careful not to be scratched by dead stones in the water. Entire resort needs a huge renovation. I assume it needs better times for Cuba economy. Just my warning and honest review. By that way on Facebook I promised one and I posted, but admin person did not approved. She only post a "Good ONES".

I went down solo on April 21st of this year to celebrate my 65th Birthday. I booked the package with the standard Room. Once I started the Booking in process, the woman at the Front Desk told me my Room N...umber is 2170. She told me how to get there and I proceeded to my Room. Once I found it I realized it was on the second floor...OK. I got in the Room and WOW! Ocean View! It wasn't till later that day I found out this female friend of mine emailed the Hotel a few days before I left and explained the situation and I recieved the Premium Room at no extra cost and a bottle of Wine. The Staff and ambiance of the Hotel and the Cubans was bar none. I am looking forward to going back to this Hotel next April for 2 weeks.

Another wonderful trip arriving at Memories Jibacoa is like coming to our second home this was our fifth time our first few we stayed 2 weeks we are now staying a month when we go obviously to spend a mont...h in one place says a lot .. the staff are exceptional everyone from the servers to the management to the cleaners and gardeners the guards the dive team… all of these employees give a hundred percent they work had have a smile on their faces The food is always plentiful :)…. The Bella Gaurmet & Ranchon a la cartes have some great dishes the staff in these restaurants are attentive and friendly they make us feel like we are special Entertainment is great from the MC to the entertainers … This was the first time we didn’t go premium as unfortunately it wasn’t offered with west jet only for the pool rooms , we prefer to have oceanfront rooms so we did without premium Did we miss it ? Maybe a little , there are definitely some perks we like to enjoy but overall we were absolutely fine … The only negative I have is because we come for month long stay it would be nice to have a dresser with drawers that being said we are already planning our next vacation at memories We miss all our very special Cuban friends … All of you stay safe ?? My family and I had the pleasure of staying from May 2 to May 7 and it was an unforgettable experience. Upon arrival we were received with distinction and familiarity as usual The staff with exquisite prof...essionalism welcomed us and guaranteed full satisfaction during the stay. Miss Maria Celica was our permanent consultant to guide us on this extraordinary vacation. The rooms were clean and very bright thanks to the excellent service of our lovely maid. The service at the buffet is exceptional thanks to the kindness of its staff. We are looking forward to returning on our next visit to Cuba next winter.

Just back from our 6th time and this was definitely the best so far! Booked a premium class oceanview and were upgraded to a suite. And that’s the second time they’ve upgraded us and I’ve no idea why but i...t was very appreciated. Everything in the room worked great. Cold A/C and very hot water all week. Didn’t try out the tvs or coffee maker (no pods). I had my own travel kettle and they left lots of tea and I had my own instant coffee so that was fine with me. Lots of water, beer and pop in the fridge and room cleaned great all week. Needed help getting into the safe and out the patio doors the first day but both were fixed immediately. The weather was perfect all week. Well perfect for me. Hot, sunny with a good breeze most of the time. Snorkelers would probably prefer less wind. Food and drinks were all delicious and plentiful. No shortages that I noticed except no cava this time, only apple cider. And I didn’t notice any premium rums but lots of good brandy. This is probably the first time in 35 years of traveling south that I didn’t have an iffy belly at all. Staff and service were amazing as always. We felt very welcomed back. Time for the next countdown. Thank you to everyone! ??
