Not a great experience but staff are great

Daniel G on Mar 29, 2025

Pros: kids had a good time, beach, pool, slides, rock climbing, zip lining, basketball and soccer kept them occupied. Staff were fantastic especially Christian at the buffet, Kevin and Joel at the beach ba...r, and Jesus the bell boy. Cons: food was pretty poor, that includes the buffet and restaurants. I didn’t have one thing that I can truly say was very good. If you want a good chair at the beach or pool you have to get up at 5am or earlier or they will all be gone. There is also only one bar at the pool so there is always a line.

Good hotel only need better food in the buffet

Matteo R on Mar 29, 2025

The hotel is very good the double room is great has two bedrooms with two bathrooms, the luggage service was great Jesus was so kind with us and so helpful. The only problem for us was the food The buffet ...doesn't have much variety of good food, we didn't see steaks or good chicken and we never find space for a reservation in the Mexican restaurant or the steak restaurant.

Would choose a different hotel

Jennifer P (Paradise, Canada) on Mar 26, 2025

When we arrived the bus dropped us off on the side of the road, this was the first red flag. The driveway into crown paradise was too steep for the bus to travel so we ended up getting dropped off and we h...ad to haul our luggage up the hill in 30+ degrees. Then once we were checked in and went to our room it was extremely dirty! Dust balls and long black hairs on the floor, dead ants on the bed, and the shower looks as though someone was in there recently to shower off the sand/dirt from the beach! I went down stairs to try to exchange my room as the one I was given was dirty. I was told there was no other rooms available in the hotel. I offered to pay extra for an upgraded room, the gentleman on the front desk barely even looked at the screen and said no, rooms. He advised me to come back tomorrow .. there was no offer to have the room cleaned. So, I ended up cleaning the room myself. - I would like to add here that I am typically not someone who is overly picky - but I spent that last few months working overtime and overnights to pay for this trip for myself, my mother, and my son. And I was extremely disappointed about the hotel and the service in general. The food was also 4/10. Most days I lived off fruit, bread, and French fries. The restaurants on the resort were 6/10. The Italian was good, the salmon at the fishermen’s was good, the steak house was terrible, I couldn’t even chew my steak it was so rubbery. Our server was very sweet tho and it offered to get a new one or something else on the menu. I went with chicken wings (app) and they were excellent! The Mexican was pretty good and the server was very funny and helped us order the more popular dishes. The beach/location of the hotel was the highlight. We spent most of our mornings/early afternoons on the beach and the afternoon/evening by the pool. The snack bar was pretty good (French fries all day) and there was also sushi which was pretty good. If I was booking again I would definitely choose a different hotel

Good for a budget friendly vacation- Only for families

davidsQ1737IP (Qualicum Beach, Canada) on Mar 26, 2025

We just spent 7 nights at the CPC Cancun and had a mixed experience. The kids (aged 11 and 9) thought it was great as there were lots of activities for them (waterslides, pool tables, video games, night ti...me kid-friendly shows, soccer games and lots of kids to have fun with & they thought the food was just fine. My wife and I (mid 40s) had a good time overall but found the food to be very basic and the nighttime entertainment - one bar and “nightclub” to be more cruise ship like. We struggled with the music and lighting in the whole place. The repetitive instrumental/saxophone musak really killed us. My wife said “if I hear this instrumental YMCA track one more time…”. Someone paying attention to music and turning down the lights at night - especially at Jetix and Trafalgar would be such an easy fix and make such a difference. The pools and beach were a highlight. The infinity pool overlooking the beach is great! The adult only pool upstairs was fun for sure. The staff were all fantastic. They all were genuinely trying to make everyone happy and were working hard. Shout out to David, Enrique & Christian at La Palapa (the buffet), Jony at the main pool deck, Lucia and Leon at Trafalgar/Nitro, Sara and Gabriel at Jetix/The Lobby Bar, Carlos the concierge and a big shout to Robbie for all the entertainment at the shows. We were happy to have upgraded to a family suite and got a king sized bed and bunk beds for the kids. For the money, it ticked a lot of boxes for an all inclusive family vacation. It just felt like there was a lack of management and some easy fixes and more attention to detail would make the place so much better.
