Beautiful water, recommend Enclave Beechfront

996mollyd (Cincinnati, Ohio) on Jan 04, 2025

We stayed a week at the beachfront Enclave rooms. Pro’s- - Beautiful Beach with aqua water - Rooms & pools newer - great service - food and drinks are mostly good, especially if you have Enclave room, we often ate at Enclave Cafe - we enjoyed Japanese steakhouse - hotel has a good location, it’s easy to walk to OXXO mart or 7-11. Close to airport, shopping mall, and 10 min. Uber to port area for side trips. Con’s- - no hot tub - we have stayed at other area resorts with great shows (choreographed dance troop) every night. This hotel has techno dj music that plays until 10pm. - some food was average or bizarre, but not quite as bad as other AI resorts we’ve been to. The made Shirley Temples with cranberry juice instead of grenadine and pizza and Mac-n-cheese has an odd taste b/c they use local cheese not American cheese. My kids liked the chicken fingers and bread though.

High Hopes but Fell Miserably Short

TravelingKellyJ (Dallas, Texas) on Jan 04, 2025

TLDR - AVOID HILTON MAR CARIBE RESORT AT ALL COST UNLESS YOU LOVE LINES AND WAITING. We left a detailed review with the resort for them to improve but heartless response back by Zayday Rishwamy motivated me to leave a more detailed review of the resort on Trip Advisor. We spent first 4 days of our vacation at Dreams Jade and we enjoyed it quite a bit. We then transferred to Hilton Mar Caribe for the last 5 nights. We arrived at Hilton Mar Caribe around 4pm but our room was not ready until 5pm so we got to wait around until it was ready around 5pm. We left Jade very late thinking room would be ready by 4pm but I guess that was wishful thinking. Our experience at the resort has been very mixed. I think this resort has very high potential but it is not living up to it at all due to mismanagement. All resources are very stretched. We stayed for 5 nights and getting our room serviced was a challenge. We can live without getting the room cleaned but really needed clean towels. The hotel would give us only 3 towels for 4 of us each day. We were able to flag the cleaning team one day around 5pm to get our room cleaned but the next day we struggled and they never cleaned it. We called the front desk to get help and they said they would send towels but never did after hours of waiting. We had a coffee maker in the room but the only coffee available was decaf for the length of our stay. The coffee machine next to the coffee shop near the lobby was always broken and lines at the coffee shop are only rivaled by lines for bread in Soviet Union in the 80's. In fact everything at this resort resembles Soviet Union experience towards the end of it's existence. Lines all day/evening for everything but the bathrooms. You have to arrive everywhere early, including the kids club, if you don't want to wait or have a short wait. I even had to wait in line to talk to the concierge responsible for scheduling the hibachi (which there were no spots left and she told me for a chance to get a spot, I would have to get in line around 7:30am the next morning. No guarantees we would even get in!) We had to line up for the kids club 10 minutes early to guarantee my daughters a spot. If you weren't there when it opened or maybe just after, you could be put on a waiting list and they would call you when a spot opened up. Sorry daughter you have to wait and will miss the activities you want to do. WTH? The staff at the kids club were super nice and did a great job with the kids. They had fun and creative activities and a really nice building. Our kids also enjoyed the kids water park with the slides. If you wanted to go eat at any restaurant except the buffet, the wait time was at least 60 minutes. The buffet usually did not have lines (except for in the morning around 8:45), but the food was also very mediocre there. This resort is all about lines and waiting. It's the biggest buzz kill of a relaxing vacation. It was exhausting. Surprisingly, our experience was not all bad. We paid for the spa experience and massage which were great. Karina gave me a great massage and the staff in the spa were very attentive. The restaurant waiters were attentive and gave great service. We paid extra for the food at the restaurants and most of our dinners and they were very good. The steakhouse was one of the best experiences we have had in Mexico. Top notch. The bartenders at the main lobby bar made the best drinks- they were awesome! Both my husband and I are Hilton Gold members and we will continue to support the brand but I doubt we will be back to this resort. We do have a reservation in April but are looking to change it to any other Hilton resort.

Enjoyed our stay & NYE experience!

Traveler04464510177 (Auckland, New Zealand) on Jan 04, 2025

The entertainment team was absolutely AMAZING and made our experience THE BEST- a huge thank you to all of them. A special shoutout and thanks to Tony and Santos. Tony was so friendly and brought so much energy to each activity that we absolutely loved the pool volleyball, water polo and other games he organised. Santos was so nice and made activities by the pool such as musical trivia, the Havana night and the night dance parties so much fun. Tony and Santos made us feel so welcome and connected so well with us. They brought the vibe and so much energy every single day and night that it would have not been the same without them. The nightly dance parties were so good, and the team (particularly Santos, Bruno and Kax) brought so much energy that we looked forward to it every night. The whole entertainment team put so much effort into making each activity fun and special. The highlight was the New Years Eve party- the entire entertainment team put on such a GREAT performance, they danced so well and were so energetic that it was an unforgettable experience. We enjoyed so much on our stay and look forward to coming again.

Family vacation

NDboy50 (Fergus Falls, Minnesota) on Jan 04, 2025

We took our 9 and 12 year old kids with us for 5 days. Overall was a good experience. Our room was downgraded slightly due to lack of availability even though we booked in August. This is difficult to understand. We were moved to our reserved room and got spa credit midway through. Food was solid. Buffet was average for an all inclusive. Specialty restaurants were good. I went to get hibachi reservations at 745 and was 5th in line. They started at 900. Line was long when we left. Was worth it for us. Service was excellent throughout all services. Everyone was helpful and friendly. Pools were great for kids. Ocean is rough but kids were able to touch and bob up and down between waves. Note that we are a very tall family. I would not expect to actually swim. Is definitely a family resort. Kids are everywhere including bar pool. Was good for us. Would not do as a couple.

Loved it!

CanukNorth (Toronto, Canada) on Jan 03, 2025

This place is amazing. From the moment we arrived with the personalized welcome, it was a terrific stay. We had the premium ocean view room with a terrace that had excellent ocean and pool views. The beach and the pool were both great. Giancarlo at the bar was fabulous !! We found two minor downsides: 1: Since it was over the Christmas holiday period they were sold out and I think a little overwhelmed in the restaurants. It was very difficult to get in to the "best" places (like the teppanyaki - for which I had to wait in line for nearly 2 hours in the morning to get a reservation), and sometimes the service was a bit slow. However, for an all-inclusive the food was pretty good. Unusually in fact, we actually liked the buffet, and ate there multiple times. Of the sit down restaurants, we liked Maxal the best and ate there twice (get the pork leg and aztec soup - you'll thank me later). 2: Another downside (depending on your point of view), is that this place is VERY friendly toward families with small children (it's like stroller o-rama). So, it is NOT very relaxing for the adult crowd. My hope is that Hilton will buy the abandoned property next door and turn it into an adults only resort for those wanting a bit more relaxing stay!
