Couple trip 2024

service was cool. It was always hot in the hotel but it’s open. Bartenders were my favorite. Shouldn’t have to book a reservation for a restaurant you technically paid to go to already.

Great entertainment team

We had a great stay as a family of 4. Easy access to the beach, my 2 kids are fussy eaters but variety of things helped, pastas, breakfast cerials etc, the best thing about the family/pool is the entertainment team, great activities in the day, water polo, volleyball etc and they are great fun, entertaining and dancing at the pool etc so plenty to keep you busy

Overall it was a great stay! Staff was amazing. Front desk was very helpful. The bars were quick and amazing drinks.

Nice hotel if you are tight on budget, Great location, basic food

Nice hotel you are staying few days. Family oriented, clean. Food needs improvement but won't kill you. Good Entertaiment. Be aware of the time share/vacation club agents, they will chase you everywhere and everyday (the 500$ gift card is a scam so unless you are really interested in buying a time share, I would just avoid them)

So this is definitely one of many reviews that are going to be writing in reference to the vacation that we took to the tuCancun Occidental. We planned a 10 year anniversary for my cousin right off the bat. We started noticing that we were having issues trying to communicate with the wedding coordinator, her name was Dorian, we booked our rooms in December and we actually didn’t get a fully signed contract until one week prior to the ceremony. And the only reason why we did is I called 50 days in one day, finally got a hold of Mr. Juan Navarro, who is the “” general manager of two of the hotels for Occidental. We had a contract and there was a breach of contract. The one thing that my cousin had asked for was a Mariachi mariachi should’ve played during the cocktail hour and Hillary , which was the wedding planner kept delaying and stating that there was an accident that there were running late and at the end of it they didn’t show up until the end of the night which was probably the last half hour of night, and that was the one thing that she had requested and paid for reference to the ceremony secondly, we dealt with the most horrible wedding planner. Her name is Hillary roses and she turned out to be not only very disrespectful, but she was also very abusive. She pointed at me with her radio and yelled at me during the middle of the ceremony instead of taking the ethical working right to put aside and speak of an issue that had happened with guests from another hotel she decided to interrupt in the middle of the ceremony , and let us know that they had to take those guests and they didn’t pay that they were going to be kicked out. She also stated that these particular guests have run away from security, ran into the hotel. Without authority, which was not correct because Ernesto, who was one of the guys in blue shirts that is out in the front actually walked them over to the ceremony place. I understand that there’s policy that needs to be followed, but I think a more respectful manner to deal with that kind of issue would’ve been just to take the person in charge which in that case was me and let me know the issues that was going on instead of stopping the bride when she’s exiting the red carpet from her ceremony to enter into our cocktail hour. I DO HAVE TO MENTION AND I AM GOING TO POINT OUT. THE CHEF ACTUALLY GAVE US A REALLY GOOD MEAL AND THE SERVERS WERE ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT. BUT HILLARY AND MR. JUANA WERE VERY DISRESPECTFUL. DIDN’T GIVE US ANY INDICATION THAT THERE WAS ANY ISSUES GOING ON WITH THE MARIACHI INSTEAD, DECIDED TO LIE NOT ONLY ABOUT THE GUESTS ARRIVAL, THE MARIACHIS ARRIVAL AND A LOT OF MORE THINGS THAT THEY LIED ABOUT. Mr. Miro stated that he was going to contact me on Sunday, which was yesterday and as of yet I have not heard a single word from him. No response to my emails no response to any of my questions and it was an absolute nightmare from the moment we arrived. We never asked for anything for free on the contrary we understand that it’s a vacation and things have to be paid and done, but if somebody offered you an upgrade because of the issues of the folks that we’ve had and then we run into issues because, they promised an upgrade to a villa, but they put us in a room with no air conditioning. A broken thermostat. And not very clean sheets. I had them replace the mattress cover and the mattress protector because it was filthy. They finally did move us to the second floor that wasn’t the view that we had asked for or paid for but at the end of the day we needed a room to sleep in. SO I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND OCCIDENTAL. THE FOOD WAS NOT THAT GREAT FOR THE BUFFET. WE COULDN’T GET RESERVATIONS TO ANY OF THE RESTAURANTS BECAUSE THEY WERE ALL BOOKED UP AND THEY NEVER GAVE US ANYTHING IN RETURN AS FAR AS MY COUSIN PAID FOR EXTRA FOR HER WEDDING AND SHE DIDN’T GET WHAT SHE ACTUALLY ASKED FOR.
