Wanted to really love this place but……..

358mindyd (Maumelle, Arkansas) on Jul 13, 2024

We travel all over the world and I try to always give places the benefit of the doubt and I really wanted to love this place but the negative outweighed the positive. The Good: Even with a group of 10 with several rooms, check in went smoothly, the staff were friendly, the bartenders and waitstaff were all very nice. The resort is small and I liked that.Despite quite a bit of rain while we were there, the hotel worked hard to keep everything dry. They stocked our mini fridge with what we asked. The Bad: The biggest issue was the food and not just the lack of taste or variety. We were a group of 10 and by the end of the week, 5 of us had some serious GI issues. This continued and when we returned home one of us went to the doctor and was diagnosed with ecoli and a cyclospora infection requiring 2 rounds of antibiotics. Several of us are still having issues 3 weeks later. I can get over bad food but NOT unsafe food. They also advertise beach volleyball but the net was broken and they finally just took it down. The bars and entertainment closed relatively early. We won’t be visiting this resort again.

Horrendous

MamaSmith186 (Washington, Pennsylvania) on Jul 11, 2024

Don’t do it. We’ve traveled a lot over the years. I’ve never left a review like this. I could leave a ten page review, but to sum up- the food is awful, and by awful I mean food poison rendering- we flat out stopped eating/drinking awful, the premium is useless (seriously- we received not one perk, not even the promised welcome gift), there’s no one to reach out to while there if you have issues (front desk doesn’t even answer the phone), the pools close early, there are no umbrellas on the beach so very few people were ever on the beach, the rules are unclear and you’re met with rudeness often by staff, they definitely cater to Spanish speaking guests, the drinks were mostly awful, our premium room flooded so badly with the rain my son’s suitcase was soaked through (no hotel response), the same son had no bed in spite of our request before arrival and slept on the couch without a pillow or blanket for two days in spite of our repeated requests, you’re constantly approached for time share presentations, we ordered boxed lunches for an excursion (premium perk supposedly) and did not receive them the day of, there was significant noise late at night (which was so weird because everything was closed), there’s little to no entertainment or activities, upon bringing much of this to the resort’s attention they did absolutely nothing… I could go on and on and on. This “vacation” was only stress, misery and frustration. Spend your hard earned money somewhere worth it.

Nope Nope Nope

I have traveled all over the Caribbean and this was a very disappointing experience. Check in was smooth & the rooms clean but basic. AC worked fine; but internet & TV kept going out. We didn’t spend much time in the room. Housekeeping did a good job throughout the property. The food was terrible. All meals. Dried up. Tasteless. My boyfriend got food poisoning from the Seafood Restaurant. Mexican restaurant was good. Service at meals was also good. Pool areas were nice & well kept until the day they let locals in. Corona cans & wet towels everywhere. Babies without proper swim diapers. No umbrellas on beach. Beach & water full of seaweed. It’s hard to find a map of the property; it seems that only the concierge had them. In order to get one, you had to agree to meet with the “vacation club” representatives. Very persistent. You also need to meet with these same folks to get information on your transportation back to airport. They like to do a breakfast meeting & then the pushy sales presentation. My tip is this — you get what you pay for. There are many nicer resorts out there.

Birthday vacation

This was my first all inclusive vacation. Most of the food was tasty and fresh. My family and I enjoyed our stay there. We utilized all the amenities and felt very safe there. The resort was fairly clean. Also, we found that the night life entertainment was too short and not very cultural.
