Very disappointing experience. The resort needs an overhaul. I upgraded to a junior honeymoon suite and got a worse room than my friends in a lesser room. I asked to be moved on night number one and the request went unanswered until my friend asked again on night 4. This was for my 50th birthday and I would never stay this again. When I was moved on night 4 to the presidential suite, that room did not have hot water in the shower, we received cold room service food and one of the sinks did not drain. Many of the staff were unfriendly and unhelpful. The only one helpful was the manager Kareem. However the overall resort needs a great deal of upgrading from rooms to food. The beach is beautiful, however I would not recommend this resort. Not even the presidential suite will give you a desirable experience unfortunately.
WORST Experience ever for a day pass…..

We had booked a day pass for the Sunscape. I was so excited. At checkin, I was informed that I needed to have my reservation paperwork PRINTED out. Ok, no where was I informed that it needed to be printed out. I had a PDF saved to my phone and it had a QR code at the top of it. Strike 1…That slowed the checkin down. Finally that was resolved, then we all received wrist bands. We were given no information verbally or by hardcopy at to what the resort offered. We went on our way, found 4 loungers near the pool. Hubby and I went to the beach and went in, it was nice but very rocky and it was hard to get your footing. We ended up not snorkeling. We opted for the pool. Later on, we decided to go get some coffee. I had on a swimsuit top with a skirted bottom and water shoes, hubby had on trunks and water shoes. We were told we could not get coffee in the open air coffee shop because he had to have a shirt on. WTH? Ok, so back we go for his shirt. Strike 2..for the day. Later on, myself and my friend went to the large palapa bar in the center. The lady informs us she ONLY has gin and vodka for drinks, nothing else? My friend ordered a Bloody Mary, she got a glass of tomato juice, there was no alcohol in it. I decided on nothing. About 45 minutes later, I tried the bar across from the coffee bar, same thing. How can a resort this size have NO alcohol? We gave up having drinks. Strike 3… It was close to lunch time. We opted for the Bluewater Grill since we figured hamburgers, hotdog type foods. My husband and I both ordered hamburgers (easy enough, can’t mess up….right?) We still aren’t sure what we received. It reminded me of the soy burgers we used to have to eat in the school cafeteria (see photo). It tasted like pressed paste? It wasn’t beef or anything close to it. Neither of us ate it as it tasted really bad. I felt so sorry for the staff. They were all kind and seemed to be doing what they could with what they had. Where is the management for this place? I could never find a manager and yes I did try. Alcohol shouldn’t be that hard to provide at a resort? I feel like we wasted $120 each for nothing. We could have stayed on the ship and had a better time and a better meal that was paid for already. I would never recommend this resort to anyone. This was our 20+ cruise, and this was our WORST experience off of a ship ever. The whole day was a complete letdown. We have done other island resorts with day passes, and they were all wonderful.
