We just had a great week at Sunscape Curaçao. Reading the reviews before leaving, we were a bit worried. I honestly don't understand the negative reviews. Food is delicious, service is good and we had A/C working as expected. Overall we had a really great experience ! Some sections of the beach have some corals so can make it a bit hard on the feet, but if you bring water shoes or choose the right section you'll be just fine. This has the positive side of being one of the best place we did snorkeling on the island !! Would return there and refer to friends anytime!

My mother and I came here for my birthday week nov 12 to 19th. We came with low expectations as all the reviews were horrible after I booked the trip. As we are currently in curacao these are the things we can point out: 1. Check in took about 30 mins even with alot of people just coming off the bus. Staff was friendly for the most part. We mentioned we would like to have a renovated room with air conditioning as we heard alot of the rooms don't have air conditioning. 2. The room had air conditioning no issue there although the room is extremely outdated. Looks like it hasn't been updated since the 90s. Beds are comfy though. 3. Our housekeeper, Dominga, is so friendly and sweet. She always has a smile and greets you so happily. Tip her well, although she doesn't expect it but deserves it. 4. As for food, me personally I think for a resort it's the type of food you would expect , however, sometimes it can take approximately 1.5 hours to 2hours to get a table at one of the specialty food places. They could definitely improve their service. In the main buffet, it's always available but very mediocre food. Natalia is an amazing waitress at the main restaurant. She went out of her way to take care of us. Another one to tip well. 5. For entertainment, is almost non existent. The first day there was no music and no show to watch in the night. Second day , there was country music and supermarket music which drove me nuts. Today, by request of my mother, there was reggaeton. People started actually dancing and seemed to pick up the vibe of the atmosphere. They also played some games , such as adult musical chairs and wet towel game in teams. They also taught some dancing by the pool. Tonight they offering a fire show. Hopefully it's good. 6. Went to mambo beach, it's amazing. They have a row of restaurants , shops with souvenirs and the beach is phenomenal. Nobody is pressuring anyone to buy anything. Just such a relaxing spot and a must see. Definitely better then staying on the resort with a pretty small beach. Only about a 5 to 7 min walk. Be careful walking there though as there is no sidewalk.. you walk on the side of the road. Take cab with children for sure. Overall for spending so much money, they only have 3 bars - one never has a bartender, the other has a very rude bartender who mocks you and provides service only for those who tip and will make others wait as she brings the drinks to their table and the other is alright but not close to anything to watch for entertainment. Kenny is at the 3rd bar (near reception) and makes excellent drinks and is super friendly. His specialty is a strawberry shortcake drink with vodka. Amazing and delicious. Will update further as I go.. wish us luck.
