Following American Hotel & Lodging Association's (AHLA) recent announcement of its "Safe Stay Guest Checklist"—and following medical expert guidance to help reduce the spread of COVID-19—all Hyatt hotels in the U.S. and Canada will require face coverings within indoor public areas beginning Monday, July 27, for the foreseeable future.
Public areas may include hotel lobbies, meetings and events spaces, restaurants and bars, and fitness centers. Some guests may be exempt from this mandate, including but not limited to guests with medical conditions, guests consuming food or beverages in restaurants, and children under the age of 2.

My recent stay at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach was a let down. It does not have the "Regency" of a Hyatt. The staff are nice and efficien, but there is a serious lack of personal interaction and touch the Hyatt Regency is known for. Prepare yourself for the motel like layout of the property. While the grounds are beautiful with their California coastal vibe, it cannot hide the fact the property is spread out and built like a motel, missing the grandeur of the "Regency" brand. Food is eatable but nothing inspiring, it will leave you bored!

The room had animal fur on the floor and couch that got on my clothes and hair, animal food on the carpet and pee droplets /hair on the toilet seat. As soon as I walked in there was a definite smell in the room. Lastly, there was a bandaid on the smoke detector. I got in around 9:30 at night so I was too tired to mention it at the time, but I was definitely not happy with the room at uneasy about staying in it.
