Fantastic April 2025 Getaway
jlgarcia98 (San Jose, California) on May 03, 2025
Just spent 5 nights here and we were very impressed with the level and quality of service by the staff as a whole. We had great repeat experiences with a few (Hugo at Emerald Sushi is a truly attentive roc...kstar server!, Gilberto, Eduardo, Ricardo, Gustavo in the Bistro are all true pros) This is a large sprawling property so be prepared to walk a bit between dining spots (golf carts are roaming the grounds and available to all). The grounds are very lush and tropical with lots of old Sinaloa appearance and feel. Room was basic with high ceilings and oceanview balcony. Interior is older but clean and functional. No problems with AC, hot water or anything else. Room upgrades yield larger space with windows, but no balcony FYI. We did not use room service once. Got out and enjoyed the weather! Food was far above average for all-inclusive with many Mexican specialty dishes to choose from. Breakfast buffet at La Cordiere has everything you could want, and we ate there every morning. Lunch and dinner we bounced between the Bistro and Emerald Sushi, often having both in the same evening. The buildings themselves do show their age, but not in disrepair by any means. The buildings are all 4 story, and spread out a good distance which makes the walks from front to back of the property pretty lengthy. Lots of pathways and things to see along the way but if it's hot out, be sure to take a golf cart. Transportation to and from the airport via regular taxi was only 25 minutes each way via the autopista (500-550 pesos+60 pesos cash toll). Taking the route along the malecon will add substantial time to the trip but is 60 pesos cheaper. We experienced the Gran Aquario (aquarium) with the free tickets offered by the Deluxe AI plan. The AI is definitely worth it if you like to eat/drink. As an example, the breakfast buffet is 350 pesos, per person. Most menu items in the restaurants range from 210-520 pesos. We tipped cash in pesos for good service, so keep some on hand for your favorite servers. Enjoy!
