The experience we will never forget !!

Sunset at the palms was an experience we will never forget !! The resort was the most tropical and beautiful place. We were welcomed with such lovely faces and greetings, with our porter Jamey who helped us with our bags. Our personal concierge Tarine introduced us to the place making us feel at home, she was always avalible to help with anything we needed by an easy WhatsApp message, which was very convenient and helpful!! It was my partners birthday during our stay and Tarine helped organise our room to be birthday ready! The beach was a wonderful experience we felt very safe and enjoyed every second, when arriving at the beach we were always greeted by Kevon who helped us with our beach loungers and learnt exactly where we liked to be sat ! When returning from the beach we were greeted and checked back in by our lovely security jerone, making sure we always felt safe. Dinner whether at the buffet or at the restaurant was impeccable our taste buds always satisfied with the array of food always leaving us with a full stomach. The lovely waiters who we came to know well, were Leon and Jason, Jason ensured my partner enjoyed a lovely birthday dinner and ensured that it felt like his special day ! Every day our rooms were cleaned to perfection with our fridge restocked with an assortment of beverages by Olivia and Afia! There also was a gift shop where Lynette was always there to greet us and help us with anything we needed, it contained souvenirs but also any necessities we may have needed. When it came to our departure we found one of our suitcases zip was broken but no matter, the engineers Kurt and Gareth came to the rescue and left us with no worries for our journey home!! Over all, sunset at the plans was an experience we will never forget, a place we would definitely return to, and recommend to anyone who wants a relaxing and homely holiday !!
Giving all the all-inclusives a run for their money!

I visited Sunset for the first time this year with my mom on our annual girls' trip. I've grown tired of all-inclusives in recent years and usually prefer to travel independently when I can. This year has been rough and we decided to figure out something to do that would be more relaxing and ended up coming across this place. We were there during tropical storm Rafael so we didn't get to make 100% use of the facilities as we were cooped up in the rain quite a bit. That being said, it obviously wasn't the resort's fault and they did an incredible job of keeping everyone happy in less than ideal circumstances. The rooms are well appointed and offered so much more privacy than you usually get at the bigger resorts. I loved waking up to the hummingbirds and the grazing goats. The resort is so small, so you get to know everyone pretty quick and I loved that. When you see how many repeat guests they have, it's not hard to see why people are so happy to come here. We ate at the buffet mostly and this was a preference- we'd had no problems making reservations but ultimately decided that we wanted to have flexibility with when we ate and didn't want to have to stick to a reservation. My husband is gluten free and wasn't travelling with us, but I would have no hesitations about the place being able to accommodate any dietary needs. There wasn't a huge selection of food like at some of the bigger resorts, but what they do they do well and it's SO fresh. It's so nice being able to eat big giant salads in the Caribbean and not worry about being sick. I'm not a huge drinker, but was pretty blown away by the selection. In recent years some of the resorts serve really gross cocktails that taste like motor oil where I don't even bother with drinking. I enjoyed martinis at the martini bar, and also saw that you could get old fashioneds, moscow mules, etc. There was one guy who was bummed about the beer selection and the staff were asking what his preference was so they could go to the store and stock something he liked for later that week which shows how great the hospitality is. I will mention that the resort is also fairly 420 friendly however they do have smoking sections so that it doesn't bother other guests :) I spent a decent amount of time at their gym and it's probably the most beautiful resort gym I've spent time at. It's pretty basic (treadmills and freeweights) but it's big and airy and tucked away in the back overlooking the jungle. I was a bit worried that it was going to be weird going to this resort with my mother but it ended up being that there were quite a few non-romantic duos frequenting the resort so it was totally fine. The staff were really great. Very helpful and very hospitable. Hearing how long some of them have worked for this resort, it sounds like it's run by a decent employer which makes me feel better about coming to one of these places. I'm looking forward to returning with my husband for a romantic getaway someday!
