Jorge Flores was the most amazing waiter I’ve ever had! Extremely friendly and always attentive with our needs. He’s been nothing but the greatest person and we wish him nothing but the absolute best!! If ...you stay at this hotel, make sure you go to adults only pool and hopefully Jorge is there, you will not be disappointed!’
I had a great experience.

The resort is amazing. Victor in the bar and Michelle who was our server by the pool are always top notch. We also went to the spa for a couples massage. Cinthia set up our appointment and was so kind and ...helpful. Leticia and Maricruz were our massage therapists. It was so relaxing! Would definitely recommend them! The rooms are clean and comfortable and cleaned daily by house keeping. The grounds are clean and beautiful. A wonderful place for families and within walking distance to lots of shops in town. This is our third year going in May and we have plans already for next year.

Guadalupe was amazing and was instructing such a fun Aquasize experience in the pool today. Such a great and fun positive and uplifting thing to do with everyone there. It was at the pool and it’s a great ...way to get a good sun tan and stay active. she was incredibly sweet and had great energy!

Just came back from spending 5 nights at the Buenaventura Grand Hotel with another couple and I can say for both of us, we will never return to this property. We had the King Deluxe Ocean View, which were... comfortable and had a nice view. With the room you also have access to the Sky Bar where no children are allowed and it's a nice place to spend your evenings. The servers in the sky bar were excellent. But on our first evening, we placed a order of calamari and after about 30 minutes I asked about it, was told that it was just taking a while - then I noticed that two other tables around us, who ordered well after us had their food. I asked about it again and received the same answer at which time we left since it was now about an hour after the order was placed. I went directly to guest services and complained and was told to go to the lobby bar and the calamari would be served to us there, even though they do not serve food there. What we received looked more like onion rings than calamari and was awful. Again, the servers in the sky bar are excellent and we spent all the other evenings there and never had another issue. As for the food in the 3 restaurants. The buffet - breakfast was pretty typical but very under whelmed by the selections and taste. Sunset Beach restaurant - tried it twice and it was the same both times. Plates were warm to hot but food was cold! I had the shrimp and flank steak skewers both times and on the first try the steak was well done, the second try, I asked them to cook it medium and to please make sure the food is warm/hot when it comes out. The steak was almost raw and cold. The lobster bisque was very good. We talked with other guests and one even said that their mashed potatoes were frozen in the middle. Nice view but not great food. Corazon Contento restaurant - We all had the mahi and it was very good. Plates were warm and so were the servings! When you check in, you are told that everyday you will receive replacements of 2 beers, 2 waters and soft drinks in the refrigerator, obviously if needed. I had to keep asking for that and the other couple we were traveling with had to ask every day, multiple times a day. During our stay, we also discovered that my husband's nice and not so cheap ($70) Teva closed toe sandals were missing. I had placed them in the closet the morning after our arrival and then they were gone the next afternoon. This was reported twice to guest services and to security. They said that they would get back to us and never did. When I said that I suspected that they had been taken from the room, because he never wore them after the first night I was met with surprise. The service around the pools with Jorge and Gus was great. The food you can get at the pools was good as well. They have a lot of fun activities that you can join in if you'd like. The adult pool and it's surrounding area is small but nice and quiet with a nice ocean front view. Beware of the chair security! They will literally pick your stuff up after having a chair empty for 15 minutes. We watched them walk around, take pictures and then pick up everything. Yes, it is fair because people do go down early and "save" chairs and not return for a while. For 5 nights and the price I paid I guess I got what it was worth. I was told that it was sold a couple years ago and the quality of the food has gone down. It is a nice location and and if you are going for the sun, water and beach then great. If you want decent food, I would go elsewhere or plan to eat out nightly. On our trip to Puerto Vallarta two years ago we stayed at the Hyatt Ziva and on our next trip, we will go back there. I don't typically like to write bad reviews but felt this one was necessary.
