The food was excellent! Gourmet and portion sizes are perfect! The dessert was not too sugary and just the right amount. We had the Dominican sliders and the fish and coconut sauce. Everything we ate was d...elicious and the staff were very helpful and friendly
Not a four diamond resort as advertised

The resort itself is so beautiful and breathtaking - beach, pools and open spaces. However the food doesn’t match the level of the resort. It’s just plain bad and not edible. There are a lot of options bu...t nothing is good. The beef doesn’t taste like beef, salad leaves are wilted, and the seafood is so overcooked & fishy. We expected the buffet to be not good but the restaurants aren’t even better. And this resort is supposed to be 4 diamonds. Some notable cons: There are too many commissioned locals going around trying to sell you excursions and DR souvenirs. The same people go around throughout the day and asking you over and over again despite having said we are not interested. People take your sunscreen so don’t leave them lying around. I should expected this since they charge $34 for a 6oz spray at the gift shop. Unless you staying at the Reserve section or paying for concierge service, getting reservation at the restaurants is nearly impossible. We had to tip our ‘unofficial’ concierge $50 to get reservations for the entire week. Since the buffet food is so not edible, this was worth it. But this should not have been the norm, especially since the restaurant was half empty around 6pm. The resort may be doing this purposely to get more people to eat at the buffet. Again the restaurants wasn’t that much better than the buffet but at least the restaurant food was edible. Lastly, housekeeping took our housekeeping tips without actually cleaning the room and restocking the items. We had to bring this up with someone each day to get water, towels and toilet paper restocked. We will not be coming back to this resort but what a shame, the resort is so nice and had great resort activities.
