Safe Food-Secure Resort

We stayed in building 31 closer to the kids water park which was a great location. The food is amazing. Food is safe and nobody got sick :) The buffet restauranr is really good. Everything was delicious! The resort has a big permanent mexican food section, highly recommended For the a la carte restaurants, I recommend Le Gourmet.... the beef stake was perfectly cooked Download the hotel app 10 days in advance of your arrival and reserve your a la carte restaurants before your arrival. The security in the resort is also really good. We left our belongings in the beach and pool, went for lunches and everything was there. Alcohol is "branded" and plenty of choices. The rooms are really big and the bathroom has a bathtub with jets, so basically you have a mini hot tub in your bathroom. This resort is huge and has 3 hotels of the same brand bahia principe...we stayed in Coba...you can take the shuttles and go to the other ones. In the Tulum resort you can see a dolphins show for free and pay to swim with dolphins. Highly recommended The resort does on sundays a kids party in the hacienda dona Isabel...the shuttles take u there ... highly recommended as well The beach is really good and the shuttles pass every 5 to 10min to take u from Coba to the beach, which worked really well...the ride is only 5min. Cuban beaches are still better but overall this beach was really good. Cuba will be there next year :)
Lovely place for the cost.

Rooms dated but clean, lots of choice for food and places to eat, especially if you eat across all of the resort. Pools clean and toilets clean around the pool areas. Coffee machines were broken in lobby which caused a bit of a queue at the bar for a few days. Lots of wildlife to see and activities to do, only 4 stars as the buffet was a bit chaotic, nothing labelled right, however did have oat milk and soya milk available. Fridge in room poorly stocked one Fanta, one diet cola and one bottle of cola, and two cans of beer. Also only one coffee bag for hot drinks. Other than that, the place is lovely, plenty of buggy’s to run you the beach or over to tulum, trips easy to book. Beach is in walking distance and clean, beach bar is ok, would like more choice of non alcoholic drinks, but the slush is ok. Booked a massage and l loved that too, cost around $70. Worth a trip out to playa del carmen $30 each on coach, if you want to go shopping.
Another Amazing Trip!

Just returned from our fourteenth stay at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba. As repeat vacationers to the Grand Bahia Principe Coba in the Riviera Maya in Mexico, my husband and I would just like to compliment the staff at this wonderful resort! We have stayed at other various chain resorts in the Riviera Maya but always compare them to the GBP Coba and return back. Prior to our vacation, we had emailed the Guest Services with a request for specific buildings and to book our a la carte restaurants. We received a reply from Cinthya, Guest Services Manager, who said that they will do their best to accommodate our request and if there was anything else we needed to contact her. Cinthya was great to work with, friendly and very helpful. On check-in, we were happy that they were able to accommodate our request for buildings. The resort and grounds continue to be well very maintained and attended to. We never had a problem finding a lounger in the shade by the pool. The Kukulcan, Coba’s main buffet staff, especially Jose Caamal, were very hard working and we never waited to have our coffee, water or wine glasses refilled. He has been working at the BPC for 15 years! Andre, Leonardo, and Mauricio were also all very attentive in their duties and accomplished everything with a smile. We ate at several a la carte restaurants. The Dolce Vita restaurant continued to be outstanding and our favorite this trip. Our waiters, Emeterio and Alberto were very attentive with excellent service. Paulino, waiter at the Don Pablo, Angel, waiter at Mashu restaurant, and Adrian and Alfredo, waiters at La Gourmet, were also excellent in their duties. We much enjoyed our evenings sitting in the Lobby Bar. Julian was an excellent bartender, working very hard to fill everyone’s request. Ofelia, is always smiling and works so hard to keep everyone's glasses full. Adolopho and Jose, at the quiet pool swim bar, are also great bartenders. They are always smiling and worked hard to keep drinks poured for everyone. The number of staff throughout the resort - from ground maintenance, house-keeping, dining staff, pool maintenance staff, to managers – wanted to know if there was anything they could do for us and anything that we needed. Understandably there can be some glitches with all resorts, but we found these to be minor. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Coba! The staff and the service were beyond reproach and you would be hard pressed to find a better resort at this price point! The wonderful staff are part of the reasons that we continue to return to vacation at the GBP Coba. Their outstanding service is very much appreciated! Well done Coba!!! With all that said, we had an absolutely wonderful vacation.
Total paradise!

This is by far the most beautiful resort i have ever visited. It is filled with beauty. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The workers are amazing people, always smiling and willing to help. The food is delicious at the buffet as well as the snackbar by the pool. A special shout out to Edar, the entertainer who was kind enough to show me a shortcut to the beach. Thanks Edar! Can't wait to go back. It will be my third time. Grand Coba has officially become my home away from home.
Back after 13 years

This was our 2nd time here. First time was 13 years ago before we had kids. Check in is easy, but you can not get a room before 3 pm it seems. No problem as we got the around 1 so we just went and ate as we had a very early flight The hotel itself looks the same as it did years ago. Hasn't been updated but still looks very good for the age of it. Our room was great. Villa 22 and it was beside the food truck and a minute walk back to the lobby. Room was very musty when we got there but that how most rooms ive been to in warm country. We open the patio door and leave it open all week and the musty smell goes away. We don't care for AC so we are OK with the room being warm. We are here for the hot weather. Had issues with the door and key card. Got card fixed but there doors open weird. Had to figure out you had to push up to open and not down. Food was amazing. I'm comparing it Cuba as that where we have gone for the last five years. Buffet had a ton of food and lots of selection . Did not go hungry. Went to 3 a la carts. All were very good and tasty Beach was nice. Cuba sand is was softer and nicer. We Snorkeled a lot and there good fish to see. they come right up to your face as your swimming. Beach along the south side was hard as a rock sand in places, but going the other way towards tulum side resort was much better. Trams to take you around the resort if you don't want to walk. We walked more then taking it as we were closer to beach.
