Avoid Afuro Room at All Cost
drewmc66 (Portland, Oregon) on Oct 31, 2024
One overall star for the Afuro room category which was appalling at more than $1k per night. The door to the bathroom is see through and faces east with no blackout shade, so by the time the sun rises your room is fully illuminated and it never gets dark at night. They "remedied" the situation by taping tacky packing paper over the window. The AC quality is terrible as well. Great location but otherwise an awful experience.
Great room / great service / great experience

My room was lovely. The heated pool and hot tub were wonderful and the service, as always, was excellent. The location is very nice…close to the water / sea planes, the water bus to the north shore and the Canada line train to the airport. This is now the only place I stay in Vancouver.
10/10

Nothing to criticize. Would stay again. Thoroughly enjoyed the deluxe experience. Booked a room because we were at a family members wedding which took place there. Food, reception, dining, room...all excellent. Was above our normal $$ but we'll worth the stay. Staff is amazing.
New Lifetime Loyal Fairmont Guests
Camrin H (Cobble Hill, Canada) on Oct 22, 2024
My wife and I stayed at the Pacific Rim for two nights and our experience has now turned us into loyal Fairmont guests. When we arrived there was a mix-up with our booking. We had booked what we thought was a lower priced room but when we arrived we were told that we were booked into a “Gold Room”. I had explained to the front counter in the lobby that I did not book a gold room and even showed them the confirmed rate email I had on my phone. I was told that we were in fact booked in a gold room and that the rate was accurate. We were sent to the gold floor to check in with the gold concierge. Again I explained we did not actually book a gold room and again showed the confirmation email. I was asked to forward the email to the concierge while they sorted it out but we were sent to our ‘Gold Harbour View Room’. The room was absolutely beautiful! We tried to enjoy the room but I had this apprehension that we would soon be told that there was a mix up and we would have to move rooms. I was then called and spoke with the Manager. The Manager explained that the government rate for our room was actually $580/night and they believed my confirmed rate was $500/night – when actually the rate I confirmed was $250/night and everyone saw the ‘total amount’ of $500 and assumed that was per night. You can understand why I was so confused and apprehensive about being provided a good room for $250/night! The Manager told me we could enjoy the room for the night while she discussed the issue with the ‘upper management’ since she could not authorize such a discounted rate. My wife and I tried to enjoy the evening thinking we would be moved the next day from our beautiful room. We went an enjoyed canapés in the lounge and as we were leaving the Manager stopped us again and to our surprise said – “Mr. Hillis, we will be honoring your rate!”. Even though we were provided such a discounted rate we never for a second felt like discounted guests. The service from everyone was encountered was beyond exceptional. We felt like royalty our whole stay from the concierge, service in the gold lounge, and even the incredible turn down service. We enjoyed cocktails in the lobby bar and really enjoyed the ‘vibe’ of the whole place; so much so that we booked another night for an upcoming stay in November and will be cancelling our previous booking at another hotel. The Fairmont has set the bar high for us and it will be difficult for other hotels to meet the same level and quality of service. You now have new lifetime loyal Fairmont guests. We can’t wait for our next stay at the Pacific Rim in November. I hope there is an opportunity to share this feedback with the team that made our stay so memorable October 11-13. Thank you, Camrin and Kristin Hillis Cobble Hill B.C.
Loved this hotel

Enjoyed my stay at the Fairmount Pacific Rim, Vancouver. The staff were exceptionally nice. The room was big and spacious. Had lunch at the Botanist and the burger was superb. Please do not forget to enjoy the complimentary Mercedes ride. I would stay at this hotel again. The location was great.
