We arrived on December 29th and departed on January 5th. We really enjoyed our time here, whether relaxing on the beach or poolside or enjoying the many restaurants. The daily breakfast buffet was terrif...fic. For bringing in the New Year, they provided a number of entertaining events from perfomers to fireworks. All were enjoyable. Staff was mostly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room and its view were just okay, and some amenities around the resort needed TLC. We had higher expectations, but in all, we are glad to have stayed.

I’ll start by saying that after some challenging discussions initially, the hotel were fantastic and gave us our room very early as our flight had been diverted. That said, this took significant negotiatio...n with reception staff and a bit of lacking in empathy/understanding by the two ladies initially. The hotel is okay. Stunning location, lovely beaches on the peninsula, but it’s just tired. It needs a big refurb. From the outside areas to the rooms, it just feels like a hotel from the 70s that hasn’t really had much of an upgrade. The cost of this hotel should mean that some investment should be possible in improving it. The grounds are great. Breakfast was nice. Overall, I’d say the biggest thing - other than a significant investment in refurbishing the whole hotel - would be training the staff to show warmth, friendliness and a welcome to guests. ‘Indifferent’ would be how I would describe the majority of staff; almost as if they didn’t want to be there.

But returned from a great stay at the Hilton. Our room was newly renovated, the view from the balcony was beautiful. We could see the horses bathing at Pebbles beach from our balcony. The pool was great, o...ur kids loved them. Never had an issue finding sun loungers. Our kids enjoyed the Tie-dying and paddle boarding activities on offer. Food and drinks were all good. We only had lunches by the pool. The coffee shop offers a good selection of snacks and lite bites. The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Shout out to the lady on the concierge who helped us book restaurants. I would recommend hiring a car if staying here, especially if you plan to dine out and explore the island. It was my son’s birthday the day we arrived and the hotel arranged a lovely celebration cake for him in our room. It was much appreciated. I wouldn’t hesitate booking again, a nice relaxed vibe.

Had to wait almost 45 min beyond the “check in time” that because the front desk person offered me a room, which according to her, it was worth the wait. I then asked the front desk person, what’s the ...price of my two nights with all taxes and Levis included. The person told me the USD amount, I wrote in down in front of her, and I said, ok will wait for the room to be cleaned. I finally got the room at about 4:45 pm… beautiful and comfortable room. Early morning of my check out day, I got an email with the Hilton’s invoice, which I just couldn’t believe it. Went downstairs to the front desk asking why those charges for the room. Almost an hour to go thru the numbers, the manager got involved….regardless, I ended up paying for the room, twice as much of what I thought…very disappointing, that regardless the front desk manager deleted from the invoice the upgrade fees that were charged for this room. When making an online reservation with the Hilton Barbados be ready to surprises. Not trusty web site !

Having read the reviews after booking we were a bit concerned but the hotel is good the facilities are nice and the rooms were clean. The whole place is let down by the staff. Everything is too much troubl...e and too much hassle for them which is reflected in very poor service…everywhere. Avoid the Grille…2 hours and still waiting for food.
