i am going to write a detailed review here to be as helpful as i can to future customers. I think it really depends on what you want on whether this hotel will be suitable to you or not, there is some things 5 star and some things 3 star so have given a 4 star review. i will talk about the positive first, Firstly, the staff - extremely helpful, especially around the pool and the beach, service could be a tiny bit quicker in the restaurants if you wanted to be super picky but i'd 100% return and go if your main focus is the way you are treated. i have been to many top hotels and the overall service is up there with the best places in Dubai, the Usa or top Caribbean hotels. Secondly, the food and drink - there is 4 evening options to eat, the steak restaurant which is also the A la carte, a french, japanese and Italian. The food is very good in all of these restaurants, the portions in the french are alot smaller so would recommend ordering two portions. availability is good and if for some reason you chose not to book until later on then im sure they would fit you in anyway. very accommodating. There is 2 or 3 options for the day and again the quality is very high. You can order food and drink round the pool or the beach which is great. For breakfast as an English couple there were no fried eggs, Heinz beans, decent sausages and their bacon is cooked the american way but the variation was pretty good. Drink wise there is everything available, cocktails made perfectly (not too strong like some hotels) and made with the best products, no cheap vodka for example which you do still find in some top hotels. Ice cream and other little bits are available by the pool at all times and at around 4pm each day there is a miniature type food brought round which varies every day. Sometimes fish, sometimes mini burgers etc, excellent. The room - we chose the honeymoon suite, there was a hot tub in the room which was big enough even if you were well into the high 6fts, they will run it for you if requested with a variation of different smells and bubble baths that you can request. The bed was comfy, you get 4 choices of pillow and the shower is very good as well as the mini fridge and alcohol which is filled up daily. There was little chocolates left to us every so often which were nice and our view was great. The negatives.. On our very first day we were asked to go to breakfast with one of their members of staff, we presumed this would be to talk about the hotel and to give us any pointers for the holiday as we were there for 10 days. Infact it was a sales tactic to try and make us a member and get cheaper deals going forward with their group. You are given a brief tour around the executive room on the top floor and then given a price to become a member in a private room on i believe the 6th floor. i said no, not necessarily due to the price but because in this current moment of my life i didnt feel it would be suitable, this was explained by myself in detail and said no matter what the price we wouldnt want to be a member, however a second member of staff came in to give us a second price, it was cheaper and very sales orientated. i again refused which was very hard to due to the forceful nature which left me feeling uncomfortable but even so, a 3rd member of staff came in, again more senior and proceeded to try and sell me a different deal. again i refused. this process took over 2 hours and was very unnecessary and frustrating when we wanted to enjoy our first day by the beach in good weather and ultimately left a very bad taste in our mouths. Secondly, the entertainment - this is aimed throughout the hotel of ages 40 and above in my opinion, i know that most people that are younger than 40 couldn't really afford this hotel but for younger guests the hotel struggles a little bit. The evening entertainment also appeared to be aimed at guests that only stayed for 4-5 days as the variation is small. The daily entertainment we didn't get involved with much but we when we did take part was fun and worth while. The evening entertainment is a little bit disappointing. Often some very good singers between the hours of 6-9. This is pretty good and worth the listen, this period of entertainment i wouldn't change too much although a little boring and downbeat on some occasions. There was a mentalist at 9pm and a circus type act on another day which were very good, also a rock band which performs twice a week which were pretty good. The rock band once seen is a little boring due to their performances being very like for like each time, there is a small amount of variation but not enough for me. The actual band is very good in all aspects other than the variation. Overall id have liked a different entertainment every night as good as the mentalist and the circus act, the rockband would have been great for once a week and maybe 4 other things that were different would have been good. The trips - We did a boat trip to Isla Mujeres which was excellent, highly recommend, the snorkelling was ok although not loads of different fish but we rented a buggy when we got to the island and it was great, we did ziplining, went to an ice bar and also could of gone swimming with dolphins if we wanted. There is some smaller markets and shops and the views and beach is amazing. You get around 3 hours on the Island and its a full day event. Coco Bongos was another night for us, was bonkers but very good, is 9pm until 3am and literally the whole time you dont know whats coming next. We were recommended to do VIP which was definitely worth it as it gets so busy. Unlimited drink and a small amount of food is offered, id recommend eating before you go. This is also just 5 minutes down the road, the hotel will arrange the cab, is around $20-$25, negotiate $20 with the driver on the way back. They also show sports in this area and there is more night life for younger couples which id recommend for more eventful entertainment. We also did the Romantic dinner on the beach at the hotel, for us we wouldn't recommend this as much, the food was unusually poor for this hotel and it is very expensive for what you get. Its situated in a good place, they decorate the floor with your initials but ultimately we were there for the food which was a set menu and poor. i hope this helps. Mike

Absolute perfection. Our butlers Saul and Roberto on the 6th floor went above and beyond for us the entire week. Omar was the BEST bartender! Always remembered your drink order. Yessica and Lucinda made our daily pool experience extra special. Jose in Blanc always remembered how to make each day start special for breakfast. We were impressed by how quickly the staff knew our drink orders and our preferences. The staff truly care about making your trip the best experience. Saul and Roberto just went over the top by taking care of us. Loved these two guys just by how they made us feel during our stay.
