Curaçao Thanks My sisters and I stayed at the Curaçao Renaissance Wind Creek Resort September 30th to October 6th and had a great experience. From check in with Thayla to check out with Ashanty, everyone was professional, friendly and welcoming. At check in Thayla was very knowledgeable and helpful, providing us with resort and area restaurant information with a smile. The initial connecting rooms she provided were okay, exactly what we had reserved. However as a Marriott Bonvoy Gold member (once platinum??), I’m entitled to an upgrade if available, so on our second day I asked for one and was pleasantly surprised to receive 2 beautiful connecting oceanfront rooms with amazing views. Thanks to the wonderful manager on duty the morning of Tuesday October 7th. Unfortunately, in my excitement I didn’t write down her name, but her assistance was very much appreciated. Also, big thanks to Christopher our bellman who transferred all our baggage from one room to the other, and kept it safe our last day and also had a cab waiting for us when needed. On days she worked, Thayla greeted us every morning on our way to breakfast (included) by name and made sure we were okay. The daily breakfast was awesome due to Isabel, who made delicious omelettes and Martina, who made wonderful fresh juices (I’m not really a juicer, but they were great). They were a fierce duo and kept the line moving with a smile. We felt like family by the time we left. Other unforgettable breakfast staff members; Chantal took the time to write down the birthday song for me, because I wanted to join in singing with the staff Jouan our favorite mimosas server with just a splash and smile. Thank you ladies, you definitely set the tone for a wonderful experience the start of every day. Other notable things to mention, I like the manmade beach, with side pool area with no sand ( hubby is not a fan of sand), the availability of huts to keep you covered from sun. The gym was clean with a nice variety of equipment. There are a nice variety of things to do within walking distance, the spa, restaurants, shopping, the bridge and onsite casino. Not only the great location of this hotel to explore the heart of Willemstad, but the staff is what sets this property apart. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Felix checked us in and gave us great recommendations for food and explained the package. We did do the all inclusive, but still explored restaurants and excursions and rented a car for a day. Chris was welcoming and escorted us up to our room and assisted with our bags. Juan was super helpful when we were running late to get breakfast as we were waiting to be picked up for our excursion and was so kind to get us carry out boxes so we could eat on the road. He checked back in on us during our stay at breakfast and gave us good tips on beaches and car rental. We enjoyed talking to him. Ivorie was the sweetest at the Infinity Bar. We went once at night and once during the day and she brought us delicious drinks and dinner. We saw her a few times throughout the trip as well and she said goodbye to us as we waited for a cab when we were leaving. Mary Dee at 5 O'Clock somewhere was exceptional and made us feel so special on our anniversary. She arranged a dessert and balloons with her manager and made me a drink that was out of this world. I also would like to mention Pete, who served us at Nautilus one night and gave my husband a to go of the blue and yellow desserts he liked, Alexis, who greeted us at the door after being out on a particularly warm evening with bottles of water and said "welcome home", Margarita who served us at breakfast one morning and last but not least, Roland at the door and Riangelo at the front desked who helped us arrange a taxi when our airport transfer that we booked did not arrive. Thanks to them, we didn't have to worry and made it to the airport in time for our flight. The hotel was clean and well decorated, the beds were comfortable and we had a little balcony to look out and see the water. We enjoyed the Infinity Beach and Pool. I had read other reviews that passed on this hotel because it was not a natural beach, but for us, it worked out perfect. We did a beach hopping excursion to see those beaches and drove back to our favorite the next day. Those beaches were stunning in natural beauty, but we had the Infinity Beach and pool basically to ourselves one night as this is a private beach. The trip and our time in Curacao was amazing and is a must return destination for us. Between the food, our walks between Otrobanda and Punda, the atmosphere, and mostly, the people, this was definitely a vacation to remember. Thank you Renaissance Wind Creek. Your amazing staff helped make our 5th anniversary trip unforgettable. We can't wait until the next time we see you. We will definitely stay here again and I would recommend it to anyone I know traveling to the area.
