Great Marriott property in Curacao

Emily F (Jacksonville, Florida) on Jul 12, 2024

This resort saved our vacation! Review should really be 4.5 stars. It would be 5 stars if there was an actual beach. We left Dreams after one night because it was absolutely horrible. (see my review). We then had to scramble last minute to find another place to stay. The Renaissance Wind Creek had availability and welcomed us immediately upon arrival with professional, knowledgeable, and kind staff. We'd been in Curacao for 36 hours before we had a decent meal - our first lunch here. Location is great for touring Williamstead and the rooms are nicely appointed. Everything else, ambiance, staff, food, location, was great.

Renaissance Never Says No

1. Concierge fixes trips. 2. Massages are very affordable . 3. Weight room is very effective, works very nice. 4. The pool feels natural. Is man made with a sandy beach and saltwater. The size is almost a football field. 5. Food service at the pool is above and beyond and the quality of food is delicious. 6.Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all A+ on taste and service. 7. Bellman service is very attentive. 8. Reception and host are very fast effective and helpful. 9.A+ cleanliness! 10. Housekeeping and hostess and agents anticipated all our needs. 11. Challenges are handled accordingly in a positive light for the guests. 12. Excellent Shopping and restaurants in walking distance(within a 100 yards) 13. Local people are very friendly, kind and loyal, again A++ 14. The harbour is less than a 100 yards walk. It's beautiful to experience the ships coming in and out. 15.Again food is superb. Quick and delicious. We really enjoyed the buffet. 16. The help is so helpful and effective. 17. Parking is more than convenient. It's like being at your house and having your car in the garage. 18. There is so much to see that you need one week minimum. 19. My honorable mentions are Ruth, Zahyra, Urby, Riangelo, Thank you all so much! P.S. Herbert Castillo. You are the best!! A+ Videos coming in a separate post. Respectfully, Howard Nossek. +17748105578

Great Experience at the Renaissance Wind Creek!

DublinTravelDad (Dublin, Ohio) on Jul 04, 2024

My family of four visited Curacao in March for spring break, and we split our trip up between 5 days at the Curacao Marriott Beach Resort and two days at the Renaissance Wind Creek. While we preferred the Marriott over the Renaissance, we had a great experience there and it was fun trying out a new resort. We checked in around lunchtime and had zero wait, but the best part was the front desk offered us an upgrade. We had used our credit credit rewards nights to book the Renaissance and we would have been in one of the interior rooms with no window, but instead they put us in one of the Imperial Suites and it was the largest hotel room we had ever seen - our kids flipped out when we went in and saw how massive it was. It did only have a single king bed, but the kids were fine with sleeping on the pullout couch in the living room. The room was located on the second floor right by the door out to the pool and beach which was fantastic because we could get back to the room quickly if we needed something. I posted a few photos of the room to show the size of it, we didn't think the website photos come close to showing the actual size of the room. But overall we couldn't have been more happy with the suite, the bedroom alone was bigger than most hotel rooms and having the dining table to play cards and a full couch to relax on was really nice. As far as food at the resort, the breakfast buffet was good and had a huge variety of choices, and a smoothie cart that would make smoothies with any fruits you wanted. They also had hot dogs for breakfast which was interesting to say the least, but I had one because why not right? After 5 days of the buffet at the Marriott it was fun having some different options. I will say I did have my favorite lunch of the entire trip at the beach at the Renaissance; on weekends they change the menu and have a beachside grill and do bbq chicken, ribs, and a bunch of other meats and sides. I had the bbq chicken, and it was a huge portion for $7. Drinks at the beach bar were good, and we thought the prices of everything we had were really reasonable. As far as the rest of the property goes, walking around Rif Fort is fun to pass the time a little bit, but we wished the pool was a little bigger. The beach area is fun and has plenty of shade, but it is man-made so if you are hoping to snorkel you'll have to go to another beach. We had dinner and drinks at the 5 O'Clock Somewhere Bar which we really enjoyed as well. My wife ran into the casino for a few minutes to play a few slots, but that was enough for her:) We didn't interact with the staff a ton since we were only there a few days, but everyone we talked to was friendly and happy to assist with whatever we needed. But overall we had a really nice time there and it was fun trying out a different resort. If you are considering the Renaissance versus the Marriott, there are a few pluses and minuses to both. The Marriott is quieter and further away from downtown, and has a more relaxing vibe. If you pick the Marriott I would 100% recommend getting a car as there is only a a few restaurants within walking distance, and getting to downtown isn't walkable. We really enjoy snorkeling, and the snorkeling at the Marriott on the back side of the rocks is phenomenal; literally thousands of fish all around you. The Marriott also has a much bigger pool if swimming in the ocean isn't your thing. As far as the Renaissance goes, if you like being close to downtown and all of the restaurants and shopping, there are dozens of restaurants within a 10 minute walk of the resort and plenty of shops as well. The beach at the Renaissance is man-made like I said earlier, and they pump saltwater in. It's really nice for swimming around and relaxing, but if you want to see some sea life you'll have to do an excursion or drive to a beach somewhere else. But you really can't go wrong with either, they are both really nice properties, it just depends on how you like spending your time. If you have any questions about the Renaissance or Marriott don't hesitate to send me a message, I would be more than happy to answer. Thanks for reading!

Mrs. Margarita and Jaqueline of HSK helped us to decorate the room of our friend who married to surprise the couple. They were very kind and nice and helped us with everything. They were very nice to us and helped us improve when we didn’t know what to do. Thank you very much ladies!

Excellent location to explore the island

Paul T (Boca Raton, Florida) on Jun 26, 2024

Spend 7 nights here on vacation, and had a beautiful experience. We got upgraded nice room with balcony and ocean view, and looking at cruise boats docked. While food was simple, we enjoyed our free buffet breakfasts. Overall service from all staff was excellent, very friendly people at restaurant and pool area. Prices are very reasonable and location great with down town at walking distance. Although no ocean access, their saltwater pool with artificial beach suited our needs well. Only if you want direct ocean access and beach you should choose another location, otherwise this is great property to explore beautiful Curacao. Free parking as well.
