(Review summary) Not sure how this hotel got perfect 5* on TripAdvisor. Based on the price point, what this hotel offers is pretty mediocre. Highly recommend paying $30-90/night more and book beachfront hotels facing directly Waikiki beach. (Detailed review) After seeing 5* reviews booked this hotel for a weekend getaway. Hotel location is great; however be mindful that this is not a beachfront hotel. You need to cross the Kalakaua Avenue and then enter the beach next to Outrigger Waikiki Hotel. Looks like this is becoming a chronic issue for US hotel industry - folks at the front desk who has no idea about hospitality - no clue about how to greet customers :( We were greeted by a gentleman who had a poker face and the first thing we heard was "if you want to check in to the hotel before 3PM, you can pay $50 fee". The last thing I want to encounter when I check into a hotel for the first time. Hotel amenities are wi-fi (that you have to refresh your login everyday), water purifiers in the lobby, pool, towels to check out for the beach, luggage service. Not sure if these live up to the expectations for a daily $40 resort fee. Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable. Our ocean view was nice. The housekeeping lady was very friendly and nice. I wished she could be at the front desk greeting us when we first checked into the hotel :)

Kristina at customer services downstairs was super friendly and helpful. Upstairs the housekeeper Arsenia was the same. Courteous and professional. Everyone really filled with aloha from breakfast to the Maui Brewing. Although I was I'll I was able to rest and recharge. The linens were amazing and the pillows the best I've had staying anywhere. These may be small things to others but not to me. Pool and all areas super clean. Beautiful furnishings. Will stay again.

Centrally located on the main strip with access points to food halls, shopping and most importantly the beach is 5min walk. Rooms are clean and spacious, stafff is friendly and helpful, Hawai’i aroma cafe is conveniently located in main lobby and the pool is the highlight, cabana moon shaped benches and good sized pool meant we stayed more time relaxing poolside vs. At the beach

Every so often, we journey over from Kona on the Big Island to Oahu. We always choose to stay at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel. It truly feels like our “Home Away From Home.” Honestly, you cannot beat the location. The Beachcomber is just steps away from the white sands of Waikiki Beach, tons of shopping and restaurants. Each time we arrive, the staff greets us by name. Jenny at the front reception welcomed us back and made our check-in seamless. The staff really does a great job of keeping their guests happy and informed. We also have to thank the housekeeping team for their warm hospitality. They never hesitate to say a quick Aloha or ask if we need anything. Plus, the room was refreshed in a timely manner. It’s also nice to step out of your hotel room and in just a minute or two, walk right into the new theater where Cirque du Soleil’s new show “Auana” is performing. Keep up the good work Beachcomber friends. We will be back.

Nice hotel with great location in Waikiki. Cirque du Soleil is performing there now. Highly recommend it. I treated my husband and Mom to 3 day stay and VIP experience to the show for their birthdays. We enjoyed the entire experience and our stay.
