Service is great, use the hyatt app where you can. Get the premium package if you can, worth it to get spots on the beach that have shade. Plus the mini lounge is nice to visit when you have had enough of the sun. Huatulco is hot! There are other perks but we didnt use them all. The Hotel needs more umbrellas and shade around the pools, most are very full when at capacity and in that heat it’s necessary. Everyone does play the beach chair game but I have never been anywhere that doesn’t. I did see staff ask to non-premium guests to leave areas, (some flat out refused which was rude to the workers), and they made sure kids where not in the adult pools and picking up towels off chairs that appeared abandoned. Keep in mind when we arrived it was 60% capacity and when we left it was 90% and you could feel the difference in the communal spaces. Food was standard, nobody is going away hungry. Buffet was closed for HVAC repair so they had two restaurants open in place of it for breakfast and lunch. Buffet at dinner would be nice, as not every night needs an a la carte event. We ordered room service for dinner 3 times and it was the best supper we had! I wasn’t a fan of the Asian restaurant as it wasn’t your usual and the food wasn’t your typical Asian flavor but edible. Usually these are a hit but that coupled with how hot it was in there we didn’t go back. The Mexican was good but they need to work on the HVAC in that one next, it’s indoors and too warm with all those grills going. Seafood was decent though I am not a big fan of seafood, it was still a good experience. The events at the plaza were decent, entertainment was good, but large crowds and communal seating isn’t for everyone. The entertainment crew works hard and it was nice to see and more going on than Secrets. Loved: staff, cleanliness, beach and pools Liked: food, drinks, amenities, weather and private transport. Didn’t like: being above the family pool, timeshare pushing, HVAC in common areas needs improvement. Couple things to note when booking: Ocean front means overlooking the family pool, it is ocean front and one of the few buildings that is but the family pool is loud! When you check in the first thing afterwards is the ‘special promotions’ aka trying to get you to sign up for their time share presentation - the gentleman was just doing his job but after a long day of travel it was irritating and put a bad taste in our mouth. Also he didn’t remember us saying no so every time we sat in the lobby we were asked again. This has happened at most other resorts but guys - take a hint - it’s annoying and 95% of your guests don’t want this! 3 bottles of sunscreen were used both times we have been to huatulco! Bring your sunscreen! Private transport to the hotel from the airport is better than the giant busses, I will do this every time!

Just returned from a 9 day stay at the Dreams resort. The arrival was very smooth, we were met with a cool beverage and a wet cold cloth which was lovely as it was very hot when we arrived. The transfer from the airport to the hotel was excellent, nice air conditioned coach. The airport is small and very well managed. Great airport if you are an anxious traveler as it is not overwhelming at all., Very calm,. The hotel is very clean and well maintained throughout. The staff work very hard. The room was basic and had everything you should need. There is a mini fridge in the room which is stocked up daily with juice, water beer. There is also hotel robes and slippers and a hairdryer. There are many restaurants to choose from and the food is ok. There are a few buffet style options as well and the food is nicely organized. There are different themes. The Portofino (Italian) was mentioned a lot when we were looking at other reviews but we were disappointed there. The service was very slow. Not impressed. The Asian restaurant was phenomenal. We loved it there, The food was exceptional and such a variety. The service was also amazing,. great job!. The hotel does have a couple of shops in, however it is expensive and it is advisable to take a quick walk outside the hotel to the shops in the street. It is very safe and there is a few different options. There is also a well stocked pharmacy that is much cheaper than the hotel. There is no ATM inside this hotel and again a 3 minute walk outside the hotel and there is one there. You can also take money out at the hotel with a credit card, you just need to show proof of passport for verification. Again very safe to use. The guard at the entrance takes your hotel room number when you leave and return from the hotel, Great to see they keep the guests safe. You can also take a cab from the hotel into the town where they have a huge amount of shops, this is a must as you can get all your souvenirs there. The charge is approx 60 pesos before tip. If you are being charges 80 pesos + its too much. The hotel is large and has a few pools to choose from. There are a couple of adult only pools as well as larger ones for families and one that is the activity pool. Our only disappointment with them is the sunbed lunatics that put towels on the beds and then leave them all day with no intention to laying on them. This is something the hotel should monitor more closely and stop this from happening. For a 5 star hotel this should not be allowed to happen. The beach is beautiful and very clean. The sea is great but you do need to be careful as the pull back from the water is intense. Most of the days we were there this was not an issue but we did have a couple of days that the water was off limits because of the strong tide and waves. The sea activities, canoeing, paddle board, banana boat is all part of the hotel and is free, This was awesome. The life guards on duty really watch over everyone and have a lot of fun to ensure the guests are safe in the water. The snorkel activity is phenomenal and worth doing, You hire everything there, snorkel and fins, life jackets etc., and pay for lunch. Tip the team they are worth every penny. It is a short bus ride which goes from the hotel and then a boat ride to the snorkel area. You see dolphins, turtles, whales etc. Very safe for young kids to do. This tour is put on by Nexus tours as part of the west jet package. There is a west jet rep at the hotel and they book it for you. Pool service for drinks is great, the staff are very attentive and make some really fun drinks, try the mudslide that is awesome, Overall a wonderful relaxing vacation and certainly worth a visit to this beautiful hotel. All the staff are very helpful, very attentive and love to interact with the guests and are worth all the tips you want to give, Thank you for a great stay.

Rooms are clean and spacious. Food was satisfactory. We purchased the Preferred package and had an ocean-front room, but other than that the perks were underwhelming. The noise from the lobby bar and the patio was very disruptive. We had to wear earplugs every night to fall asleep.

The fluffiest are the I have ever felt pillows. Mushrooms, Party and rock on! Un marciano en el vuelo de taca. Muy bueno, very good. Come and see for yourselfs, its amazing. Animo perros ya mero llegamos a los 200 caracteres. Si esta rico ehh, animo.

We vacationed at Dreams in early November as a couple (WestJet vacation). Transfers to and from the airport (20-25 min) were seamless; much less busy than Cancun. Upon arrival at Dreams we were welcomed with a glass of champagne and a cool cloth to freshen up - the friendly staff made us feel very welcome! Check-in was smooth and our bags were delivered to our room promptly. Our room faced the adults only pool and was very quiet; even had a jacuzzi tub on the balcony! The resort was easy to get around as it is smaller. We enjoyed the App that had everything you needed to know about the resort at our fingertips. No wrist bands or reservations were needed and we loved this, Our favourite restaurant was Himitsu (oriental) with waiter Giovani taking good care of us. We enjoyed a couples massage and hydrotherapy at the beautiful spa as well as a romantic dinner on the beach, which was served by the pleasant Miguel. Carlos and Eduardo served us breakfast with a smile every day, The entertainment/activities staff Nad and Luis were so much fun in the pool! Huatulco is a gem of a place; beautiful weather and very friendly people. We would not hesitate to recommend Dreams Resort and Spa!
