Becoming a Pickleball destination
YYZJG (Mississauga, Canada) on Dec 14, 2024
Room request fulfilled, shuttles were frequent as needed, staff always friendly and accommodating (although one day lacking service at both breakfast and lunch), but really appreciate the permanent pickleball courts! Everybody loves Paco! You should consider changing sport focus from tennis to pickleball, at least from October to April, to get more Canadian visitors. We love all the outdoor dining and although food isn’t the fanciest it is more than adequate.
Sun sand and ocean oasis

Ocean is great for swimming snorkling. Beach is awesome although a litte rough with coral/shells. Bring water shoes if you have tender feet. Food was fantastic at buffet. Alacart hit and miss. Xschild (sp?) (Pronounced Serchi) was the BEST beach server. Entertainment every night. We had a large group (14) which can be sometimes hard to accomidate but they did a fantastic job. Lots of excurions turtle release, bird watch , fishing shopping. Lots of stairs but the shuttles will take you where you need to go if mobility is an issue.
Location and warmth; from both weather and staff!

My husband and I, and 2 of our sons, ages 17 and 11, went here the first week of December. We loved Las Brisas and will definitely be back to this resort. We have been to Huatulco 2x before, the Barceló and the Dreams, but because of the beautiful, calm waters and the authentic Mexican food offered, (fresh tacos for breakfast every day), this is our favourite resort in the area now. Huatulco has perfect weather, too! A consistent 33° during the day and 28° in the evening. No rain either. It’s not as humid as other parts of Mexico. The staff went out of their way to help us and just had great conversations with us. A few to mention are Harla, the main buffet hostess or manager, she helped us a lot with our Spanish and was so sweet. Erica who ran the taco station, was fantastic at her job and so personable, I loved her presentation of the pigs made from tortilla flour and she was so patient as we stood figuring out what we wanted in the fresh to order tacos. Luceli, one of the servers in the buffet took such good care of us and loved chatting with us about our day. Alan Cruz, one of the bartenders from buffet saw us in town at the market and came to say hi and then told us how to get somewhere. The activity girls, Adela and Heidi, played volleyball, ping pong, pickle ball, and basketball with our boys. They were a lot of fun. All of the staff were fantastic but these people made a big impact on us. I hope we see them next time. There were always trains available to use, you just waited a couple minutes at the stops or used the phone at the stop to call one. We ate a lot of food so we enjoyed walking but often we’d catch a train from the lobby to our room so we’d get to our next thing faster. We tried all the beaches, all of the a la cartes, many of the activities, and everything was great! We only went into the pool once because the ocean was so incredible and we didn’t need the pool. We just aren’t really Pool people either. Men had to wear shirts with sleeves to eat in the restaurants and that was a first for us for breakfast and lunch, so we didn’t pack enough shirts. We loved that pants weren’t required. If you want to play squash, you need non-marking shoes. Just go to the lobby for squash and tennis equipment or the gym for ping pong and pickle ball equipment. The gym is huge and full of everything anyone needs. I could go on and on about this resort and area. It’s paradise! We have been to many areas of Mexico and stayed in several all-inclusives, we try and go once per year, but this area of Mexico continues to be my favourite, though we keep trying other places, in case. We can’t wait to go back here! P.S. The Gluten-free menu options were fantastic. My son never went hungry or was sick. He is celiac. Check out the hotel app, it was very helpful and listed all of the a la carte menus.
10/10 Stay at Hotel Las Brisas Huatulco

My families vacation in Las Brisas Huatulco has been my favourite vacation yet. The food was amazing, especially with me being gluten-free. There were many options if you asked the cook and I was able to order ahead for the dinners at the a la cartes, so that they would have the ingredients for a delicious meal for me ahead of time. The beaches were incredible along with the countless drink options. There were many tennis and pickle ball courts, volleyball, soccer, beach volleyball, ping pong, a massive exercise gym, and more. Not to mention the activities put on all throughout the day were so fun to engage in. The staff were all so kind and helpful. To name a few, the activity girls (Adela and Heidi), the hostess at the buffet (Harla), the breakfast cook (Erika), the waiter (Paublo), the bartender at the buffet (Alan Cruz) and many more. I will definitely be coming back here next year.
Had a great time, got used to the walking.

As mentioned in other reviews, the resort is spread out over a peninsula and there are a lot of stairs. We got used to walking fairly quickly but some of the steep inclines were difficult for less mobile guests. The shuttle service was fairly prompt most days and the drivers were very friendly. The grounds and beaches are beautiful and very well kept and the staff were wonderful. The food was decent, typical AI fare, nothing to write home about. One aspect of our experience that could have been better was the housekeeping, the floor in the living area of our suite was so dirty when we first got to our room that the bottoms of our feet were black. We hoped it would be corrected the next day but after 4 days of the floor not being cleaned, my wife washed the floor herself. There was one day that we returned to our room after 4pm and our room hadn’t been cleaned. I’m not sure if their housekeeping department is understaffed or what, but we thought it odd that there was such inconsistency.
