Wrong room from what we booked !!

Connector41366645222 on Jul 16, 2024

Quite a disappointing stay here. We visited all the way from New Jersey and we're very excited that we had booked an ocean front room. But when we arrived and stepped into our room, they ended up giving us a resort facing room. When we asked the front desk about it, they said something along the lines of the owners getting first priority when it comes to booking the rooms and that even if we have reservations, it's not a guarantee. What a load of bull. If we had known, we would have booked at another place where we know for SURE that we would get an ocean front room since that was our priority. This was very misleading and false advertising. Not happy with the experience all in all.

This property is a time-share so it is not a luxury service resort. Most people here take advantage of the condo style rooms and cook their own food and bring their own beverages down to the pool. If that is what you are expecting, than this is a good place to stay - nice big pools and right on the beach. The rooms are big. The bathrooms are big. Don't expect daily room service though. Getting more towels or other housekeeping service takes time. Again - this is a timeshare condo property. Overall, the place is an ordinary high traffic time share property. The parking in the NORTH building is terrible. All of the spaces are marked "COMPACT." Unless you drive a Mini Cooper, good luck getting into a space. We enjoyed our stay, but liked the location of our last trip next door to Whaler's Village.

Don’t stay here, terrible service and out of date, dingy

My wife and I always receive offers for a timeshare presentation/aggressive rate at many resorts and finally we decided what the heck we’d give it a try for us and our two kiddos. Westin Kaanapali Resort Villas seemed to check the boxes: enough space for the 4 of us to be comfortable, a refrigerator so we could pop into Costco when we land for some snacks, fruit etc so every meal isn’t a full production, and a promised ‘Ocean View’ room. All for a 90 minute preso about how we could be owners here! I won’t bury the lead: don’t stay here if you are remotely into great service, beautiful views, updated clean rooms that don’t smell like smoke, or don’t want to be treated like a second class citizen because you’re on a discounted offer. Stay at the Kaanapali Ali’i, Honua Kai, an Airbnb, or just about anywhere else. Seriously there is zero added value at this resort. We are in room 4107 and currently considering checking out and moving elsewhere and losing our $$. This room is right near the grilling and designated smoking area, which on our first night last night had tons of smokers polluting the crap out of our balcony. Super fun to have a 10 and 12 year old not able to hang out outside. Went at 7am to ask to be moved, got a pretty don’t give a crap response. And a follow up don’t give a crap from a manager Sandy a couple hours later. A few other highlights: when we first pulled up to valet they just stared at us. Didn’t come to the car, didn’t come greet us, basically nothing. No welcome cocktail, no lei. Basically zero Aloha and doesn’t even remotely compare to the other properties we’ve stayed across Maui, Kauai and Oahu. Then when we walked up to the counter to check in, the woman rudely waived us away and said she wasn’t ready and to get in line. No one was in line, so we backed up 20 feet away and then were called over by another receptionist who was marginally nicer. Oh, and the best part of our ocean view? It’s actually a parking lot view with the ocean marginally viewable if standing on a chair.

Don’t understand the bad reviews

We just bought into the North resort thru Redweek. A great oceanfront 2 bedroom. No complaints. Checked in quickly and everything has been great. Beach is very nice. Water is beautiful. Lots of turtles!!!!! Be back in two years. Can’t wait to come back.
