Wynn Las Vegas needs to pay attention to the details

Bruce D (North Huntingdon, Pennsylvania) on Sep 27, 2024

I recently stayed at the Wynn Resort and am writing to express my thoughts. I am 70 years old and have traveled extensively, visiting 47 countries, so I have stayed in a few hotels. I never wrote to hotel management before today. Today is your lucky day. The Wynn Resort is clearly a five star property in almost every respect. Great restaurant choices, sportsbook, golf course, shopping and services make it a high class resort. Given all that, however, it’s always the little things that can spoil a good impression. My wife and I stayed two nights at the Wynn on September 7-8 in room 2452. The room was very nice, great view of the city, but the following items made our stay less than desirable: - The first evening we were there, I checked my online folio and it showed over $200 in minibar charges when we hadn’t used anything from the minibar. We did move/remove some items from the minibar just to look before we saw the “30 second rule” disclaimer on the little card in the room. By the way, the “30 second rule” is quite ridiculous in my opinion. We visited the front desk and these erroneous charges were withdrawn with no incident. - On our second day, there was no maid service in the room. We had to go looking for someone to get clean towels. Trash cans were overflowing with no attention from housekeeping. Another little card in the room stated that clean linens would only be exchanged upon request. Nowhere did it state that no housekeeping services would be forthcoming. - The second evening we were there, I checked my online folio and this time it showed over $400 in minibar charges. I couldn’t believe what I saw! At that point, we still hadn’t used anything from the minibar. This, too, was resolved with a call to the front desk, but this is extremely annoying and not guest-friendly. - Upon checkout, I was charged $25 for “private use of minibar refrigerator”. We placed a bottle of water in the refrigerator to keep it cold. You should be embarrassed to even issue such a charge. Also, let me add a complaint about the $50 per day “resort fee”. Why isn’t this just included in the advertised price of the room? The entire trip was pre-paid (I thought), this fee should just be part of the room cost. Unfortunately, on any future visits to Las Vegas, the Wynn will not be one of our choices for lodging. This review will also be posted on Trip Advisor. Thank you for your time.

Pit boss named Sebastin ruined my vacation, his rudeness and unprofessionalism made it not worth the money I spent!

Chaz B on Sep 26, 2024

I always expect the best, as far as comfy beds and a top notch gambling experience when staying at the Wynn, I'm concerned they're going downhill tho, I recently had a horrible encounter with a pit boss named Sebastin his rudeness and unprofessionalism ruined my vacation, for the money I spent and the gambling dollars played you would expect this treatment at the Circus Circus, Steve Wynn would have never allowed this man to work for his establishment.

Great Visit!

JohnnyI0695 (Seattle, Washington) on Sep 16, 2024

Ever since Wynn announced the refurbishment of the rooms, I have been eager to return and see for myself. Having recently finished my stay, I can say the rooms are definitely beautiful and as comfortable as they always have been. Extremely clean too. My stay provided the experience I expected from Wynn, with friendly, professional and engaging employees who provided excellent service. I dined in a few venues and found the food very enjoyable. Visiting from a Wednesday to Saturday, I enjoyed the less crowded atmosphere and value that staying midweek can provide. For me, the decor of the resort is awesome. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Tower suites - wow wow wow

klrams (London, United Kingdom) on Sep 15, 2024

We stayed in the Tower Suites for 3 nights which if affordable for you, I would highly recommend. Separate entrance, lobby, bar and pool plus excellent location of rooms makes it a no brainer! We booked through Amex fine hotels and received an excellent upgrade on check in - we were fortunate enough to stay in a Parlour suite which was enormous! Definitely value for money considering we had booked a standard tower suite room. The bed was super comfortable, amenities luxurious, plenty of complimentary water and coffee throughout our stay (unlike other high end properties on the strip such as Bellagio). The staff were nothing but friendly. We enjoyed breakfast in our room each morning which was always delicious and delivered right on time. The gym facilities are some of the best I’ve ever seen in a hotel, but does get busy in the mornings (not surprising given what a big property Wynn is). Casino floor, shops, bars and restaurants available in Wynn/Encore are all great. Only thing lacking is more casual/takeout options, but not surprising for a high end property on the strip. Highly recommend Mizumi restaurant if you like Japanese food.
