Sea Gardens is a fine all inclusive with a nice staff and very close to the airport. On their private beach across the street, which is clean and calm-great for small kids (as is the pool within the property), you can watch the planes land all day long. The food served is very good, with an emphasis on Jamaican cuisine. Part of the main dining room is literally under the stars-open air. This is one of the few hotels in Mo Bay that will let you stay for just one night, which is great if you have an early flight as the airport is a 10 minute drive at most. The grounds are nice with shuffleboard and the lobby is spacious and well decorated including fish ponds and tank. There is ample security which is a must as Mo Bay has a crime problem like most big cities. There is a nice public beach a short walk to the left but bring no valuables. A few minutes past this beach is the rightly famous Doctors Cave Beach which is worth the price of admission plus charge for chair and umbrella. It is well protected and the water here is calm and crystal clear. Just be aware that, depending on your room location, Kent avenue can be very noisy at times with both vehicles and locals partying, especially at night, at the public beach mentioned earlier so you may want to specifically ask for a room as far away from the street as possible. Unfortunately, we had 2 ground floor rooms adjacent to Kent Ave and both our toilets and showers backed up. I was offered a plunger which never arrived so I had to use the lobby bathrooms for my stay of one night so be sure to not get these rooms on the ground floor by Kent Ave but other than that, this is a great resort with a great mix of people, especially Jamaicans on holiday which we loved. Enjoy!
Quirky, traditional Jamaican hotel!

Ok. We arrived at this hotel expecting the worst after so many poor ratings on Trip Advisor. However, we were pleasantly surprised and had worried unnecessarily. The hotel itself is a little tired, but we thought this made it quirky and it added to the whole Jamaican experience. It’s locally run and uses local staff, who were all very friendly and accommodating. It is exceptionally clean and all staff were very hard working. Our room was huge and air conditioned and it overlooked the gardens. Make sure, if walking is an issue you ask for a ground floor as there isn’t a lift. There is a pool. We didn’t use it as it’s quite cold water and we prefer the beach. There are also pool snacks that are open during the day and then again at 10pm and a small onsite shop. The beach is across a quiet road, but a man likes to stop the traffic for you so that you can cross safely. It’s a private, beautiful beach. There are plenty of sunbeds and some parasols so you can choose to sit in the hot sun, or in the shade. A beach bar that sells good bar side snacks and great iced cocktails. Service there is good. The music starts at 11am and the dj plays fun games throughout the day. There is also the addition of cute little ghost crabs to watch as you sunbathe. There are guys outside the walls who try to sell you things, including marijuana, but they don’t bother you once inside. The gardens are lovely and there’s an African grey parrot that wolf whistles, tonnes of carp to watch and also a little terrapin. The nightly entertainment programme is good fun and lasts from 8-10, then you can go across to the disco with Country if you wish. The fire show is good and there’s a range of singers to dance to. The hotel is quite central and so close to the airport so handy for trips out. We popped into Montego Bay and learned about the history and we also did the Martha Brae which was beautiful and very tranquil. My only negatives were the food. I love trying new things and there was plenty of that there, but I dislike boned meat and that really was the only option. No matter whether you have jerk chicken, curried dishes or stews, they were all packed with bones! We did go to the Italian though and that was good! The other thing was the check out- they don’t provide a room to shower in so the only option is use the cold beach shower and then use a public toilet to prepare for the plane journey. Not great when you have an evening flight! Anyway, we probably won’t be returning, purely because we like to try new places. But give this hotel a chance. We enjoyed it! .
More Real Jamaica, Less Fancy Resort

The easiest way to know if this place is for you is to know what it is not: a luxury resort with a party scene or kids club like Sandals or Beaches with a Disney-fied experience of staff falling all over to help. It's an authentic, locally owned place, which means actual Jamaican food in the buffet (goat curry, baked chicken, cassava, saltfish) and hardworking staff that will treat you with respect IF you treat them with respect. Service and amenities are inconsistent, so if small details bother you, look elsewhere. On the plus side, Sea Garden is a tremendous value for the money, nice private beach with a fun view of incoming airplanes, and a wonderful location, easy to get anywhere and shopping within safe walking distance.

Hard beds, food just ok, great service though, didn’t give towels or bed comforters. Would return if there was no other option. Drinks were ok and bottomless. Great entertainment every night DJ caramel was great and funny. Love the music and atmosphere. Not all bad but not all good, booked double bed and was given a king
