Mold, old and cold. Do Not Stay Here.

153philippet on Nov 09, 2024

This hotel seems stuck in a distant past and is ill-equipped for the times. Mold First and foremost, our bed blanket was covered in mold (see picture). While the hotel manager immediately offered a full cleanup and gave us vouchers for free breakfast the next day, we returned to a bed cover still showing traces of mold (admittedly less than the first time around, so perhaps a win). The breakfast buffer was a sad affair, with food at best lukewarm, soggy fruits that had been left soaking in their own juices for days and much too fewer staff to tend to the tables. Elevator Issues To make matters worse, the elevators were a significant problem, as only one elevator servicing 9 floors was in working order. We encountered long waits and had to more than once walk down the 22 sets of stairs to get to the lobby. The staff seemed overwhelmed and unable to provide timely updates or solutions, which only added to the stress. Long line-ups We had to wait 30 minutes at registration to get our room. We were told by the employee checking us in that we were lucky as guests often encounter much longer waits and, at times, have to be rerouted to different hotels as the Sheraton routinely overbooks its rooms. This was one of my worst hotel experience ever. Preserve your mental sanity and do not come here. There are plenty of other options in the area that offer better service and cleanliness.

I don’t recommend staying at this hotel

Realreview1019 (Melville, New York, United States) on Nov 08, 2024

so disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The rooms were not clean. I found hair in the shower in my room. If you’re claustrophobic, please be warned that they stuff appropriately 20 people into an elevator that stops on seven floors. Also be warned that this causes massive delays. The second night of my stay, I waited 10 minutes get an elevator up to my room. When I got to my room my keys didn’t work. I waited 10 minutes to travel down the elevator and 15 minutes on line to speak to the representative. When I got to the front of the line he was extraordinarily rude, refusing to answer my questions. I finally came to understand that my key wasn’t working because I was booked for two separate nights rather than one stay for two nights and therefore needed to pay for the second night. This took a lot of back-and-forth with the representative for him to even take the time to explain this to me. He asked me to put my credit card in the machine and so i did. I then stood in front of him for several minutes Before asking why it wasn’t working at which point he told me my credit card was in the wrong machine. This was just one of several interactions I had with this man where he Was extraordinarily belligerent and refused to help me. When I finally finished I went back up to my room, after waiting several minutes for the elevator and my key did not work. I did this 4 more times before finally demanding that they send someone up to my room and which time they realized the door lock battery had died. this interaction with rude staffers and writing up and down the elevator took one hour before being able to finally get into my room. There were much better hotels to stay in in the Timesquare area and I recommend doing your research. This is not the hotel for you!
