"Great Location, But Overpriced and Lacking Cleanliness – 3/5"

hcmodi (Ahmedabad, India) on Mar 20, 2025

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza Times Square (now Hyatt Regency Times Square) primarily for its location, which is undoubtedly its best feature. Situated right in the heart of Times Square, it offers easy a...ccess to Broadway theaters, major attractions, and a vibrant city atmosphere. However, my experience was not entirely satisfactory. The hotel is quite costly, and for the price, I expected better cleanliness and upkeep. Unfortunately, it did not meet those expectations. While the rooms were decent in size, the overall hygiene and maintenance could have been much better. If location is your top priority and you're willing to compromise on cleanliness and value for money, this hotel might still be an option. However, for the price, there are likely better alternatives in the area.

I expected a better hotel as the brand is famous, but we had a lot of trouble at the reception, during arrival, staff is not nice, the are not patient as well. The shower at our room was poorly functioning.... It needs improvement to provide a good service.

Crowne Plaza Times Square, Manhattan, New York, NY

Rodney W on Feb 03, 2025

This was our first visit to New York and we stayed at Crowne Plaza Times Square, Manhattan. We arrived on December 4, 2024 and we had the pleasure of meeting Maritza - checked us in very smoothly and prof...essional. The hotel is exceptional clean and our room was very clean too. I can say, we walked over to Junior's Restaurant on 49 the Street, across from the hotel - and ordered coffee and breakfast(yogurt). Faster and cheaper than the deli in hotel. We will definitely visit NY again and stay at this hotel. The location of the hotel is phenomenal!

Scam artists taking advantage for guest

I will NEVER go back! I am out of state and read all of the details for New Year’s Eve and thought this would be a great experience for my husband and I. When we arrived, my husband went inside to check it... and get the keys to our room so we could unload the car. As I sat in the car for approximately 3-5 mins waiting on my husband, the valet came up and knocked on my window and told me to move my car or check it in. Mind you, there were 2 unoccupied SUVs in front of me, and there were no other people there. I wasn't blocking any spaces to the door; I wasn't taking up too much room or blocking the flow of traffic. We're simply trying to check in so we could get our stuff up to our room. I told him this, and he said I had 3 more minutes to move my car. This was just the beginning. After we got back from parking our car, everything was great. Times Square was amazing, and the hotel seemed to be clean. Until I moved the chair in the room and seen a broken finger nail and an un-vacuumed floor but I’ll digress. We bought the New Year's Eve package and got our wristbands the morning of the 31st. Everything went smoothly; however, because we were from Michigan, we did not understand that this was a free event and that our package would not allow us to hang out in the area during the live performances. Which ended being too far away to even see any of that anyways. So.. essentially, we were scammed out of $800 by this hotel. The $800 was paid for you to be escorted out into the area in front of the hotel at 11:15 pm; no drinks or anything were included and that space was completely open the entire night. We foolishly paid $400 a piece to stand out in front of our hotel, where you cannot even see the live performances for a whopping 45 minutes just to witness the ball drop, mind you, at a free event! I assure you this is NOT WORTH the money or the frustration. We travel all around the country and are platinum elite members and use these hotels often. We are completely appalled that they are scamming their guest like this. I and several other guests went and talked to the manager, and I even called and made a complaint. I never received a phone call back. They have now just lost a long-term customer out of pure greed. I would personally avoid at all costs.
