Hyatt Place Anaheim is a winner!

Lilia C on Dec 19, 2024

We had 5 rooms to accommodate all my adult kids, spouses and grandkids. Third time we stayed here and it did not disappoint. I love the consistency of the quality, cleanliness and vibe. Free breakfast is great, everything from bagels, donut holes, cereals to eggs and pancakes (changes daily). My family loves this place. My daughter with the 4 kids had the specialty 2 queen room and although not advertised it came with a microwave and little sink area (like a mini-kitchen). Very spacious. Even the regular rooms are very spacious. We spent 3 days at Disney (I recommend doing rest days in between) and just walked 10 min to the Toy Story parking lot across the street and jumped on the shuttle bus. You save $35 parking and get dropped off right at the entrance gate. (Versus if you catch the tram from the other parking lot you get dropped off at downtown Disney and have to walk farther than 10 min). Just keep in mind you have to break down any strollers you have when you get on the bus. Make sure you put everything in bags so it’s easy. FYI Uber to Long Beach Airport $70 for XXL. CVS and Walgreens up on the corner close by with lots of Disney stuff and cold foods. Oh I am also a. Hyatt Member so we got 2 bottles of water a day that we took to Disney and guaranteed lasts check out at 2pm!

Excellent staff

Francisco F on Dec 12, 2024

The staff at this hotel is super friendly and the place is very clean. Priscilla at front desk was the best. She was very helpful and cheerful. She helped us with our reservation. The parking was good and the location is excellent to go to Disney.

Amazing staff, beautiful and clean hotel

Reyna E on Dec 09, 2024

I booked this hotel for my wife’s birthday Disney weekend getaway and it was amazing! We had checked in the late evening on a Friday night. I want to break this review up into 2 parts: the hotel itself and the staff (spoiler: 3 stars is for the AMAZING staff and the remaining star is for the hotel). THE AMAZING STAFF: Bobby and Sarah were the lovely individuals that helped us mostly during our stay. The moment I began checking in, I loved the hospitality and knew I’d love the staff there. I was right! Bobby was extremely helpful, bubbly, funny, kind and professional. After we checked in, my wife and I needed to step out. As we were chatting with Bobby, she learned about the reason why we were staying at that hotel and asked if we wanted a photo with their Mickey statue (we actually did the moment we first saw it on our way up to our room LOL). We chatted with her for a while and she gave us amazing tips for Disneyland and the surrounding area. That same evening, closer to the later part of the night, I stepped out one more time to grab some takeout by myself. As I was leaving the lobby, Bobby (and the other receptionist, Sarah) asked if I wanted to send some balloons up to the room for my wife. They told me they could have the balloons ready for me by the time I got back from picking up my food. And lo and behold, when I returned, Bobby and Sarah and prepared a gift bag with some treats and an adorable set of Disney-themed balloons. It honestly meant everything to my wife and was one of the rare moments of kindness we will NEVER forget. The staff at this hotel will take amazing care of you! Including the other receptionists and the bartenders! THE HOTEL The hotel itself was actually wonderful. It was clean, modern and beautiful, and good for a smaller size hotel. The breakfast was alright, but good enough that we enjoyed eating there before heading to Disney. The rooms were one of the cleanest rooms we’ve ever stayed at! For once we didn’t feels gross or skeptical about a room. It was really comfortable and pleasant! Spacious too. The TV isn’t a smart TV and is pretty ancient–didn’t love that LOL. Bathrooms are clean and nice as well! Water pressure could be better, but not an issue lol. The reason I had to give 4 stars is because after the first night, both elevators went down (day 1 had 1 of 2 elevators running). Returning to our room very late and tired after Disney plus checking out the day after was a PAIN. But through it all, Bobby and all the staff were so kind, compassionate, accommodating and patient with all the rude and angry customers that came their way. But still, they were so extremely kind to us and I regret not being able to say thank you one more time before we checked out. Parking was also expensive! Didn’t love that either. I highly recommend this hotel and if you care a lot about quality staff that take the time to make your stay great, this is the place for you! Bobby and Sarah—if you ever see this, thank you from the bottom of my heart! You truly made my wife’s birthday a magical one!

fine option

JenStoj (Schererville, Indiana) on Dec 05, 2024

I debated 3 or 4 stars, but I’m going with 3 Pros: Clean - Room was clean. Seems like there was recent remodeling maybe? I appreciate the hard floors vs carpet Location - Walkable to Disneyland or to the Toy Story Lot to ride the bus to Disneyland Meh: Breakfast - It’s included so we weren’t paying for food out every morning. But it’s not good. I’ve had worse eggs, sure. But the 5 mornings we were there the buffet was scrambled eggs, cubed potatoes, pancakes/french toast, which are all fine. But then bacon bits and either round thin slices of deli ham (not Canadian bacon, just plain ham), or this weird sliced smoked sausage (not breakfast sausage). The coffee kind of had a saw dust taste (not the case at all Hyatt breakfasts) Cons: Parking - I’ve said it before about this place but it really kind of irks me. They charge $30. Fine. Except that they share a lot with the Cortona Inn, who charges $22. And the Cortona’s gates were never closed (again, repeat from the past). So I’m paying more to park in the same place and in theory anyone can park there pretty much for free? Room - The room was clean, as I said. But, we booked a specialty queen. Specifically because the room description and photos from Hyatt show/state that there’s a separate desk in the room (“separate workspace”), and the Oversized Cozy Corner sofa. Our room had a two-seat love seat and a chair. And no separate desk, just the dining table. Deal breaker? No, probably not. But as far as I’m concerned not what I reserved. Nor was it really the space that I intended to have since we were traveling as a family of five adults, and I planned to do some work a few mornings. Also, our bathroom had a sliding door that closed off the toilet & tub/shower from the sink area (again, not as shown in the photos). Sliding doors can be fine if there isn’t a weird gap where you can see in/out of the bathroom. It’s awkward as a shared space. Also, while two sinks is great for getting ready, not having a door that can be closed to the sink area is an annoyance, mainly at night when the lights are on. And, one sink leaked (think river on your toes), and the other drained very slowly. The front desk seemed disinterested at best in having someone take a look at them. Pool - Closed. Sign said we could use the Cortona pool (yes, the neighboring property with the wide open parking gates, so they’re associated somehow.) I’d stay here again. Sure. I’ve suggested it to others. I just don’t know how to get around my annoyances with the hotel. And they couldn’t care less if I’m not happy with the place. But I do still like it better than the Hyatt House.
