Beautiful Luxurious Resort In The Desert

BlackberryBoy (Gibsons, Canada) on Nov 10, 2024

Stayed here for 3 nights on a Southwest Roadtrip and had a fantastic stay. This resort is set around two large but shallow pools with lots of loungers. There's several restaurants and lots of activities and seating areas so you could definitely spend a couple of days here without leaving the property. We were fortunate enough to get upgraded to a pool view larger balcony which is great because most of the hotel balconies were quite narrow and didn't have dedicated outdoor seating. Our covered balcony had a comfortable lounger and ottoman plus a small table and two chairs, it was great having so much outdoor space to relax and enjoy the mountain views. Our room was spacious with a fridge and Keurig coffee machine. The bathroom was huge with a walk in shower and a seperate toilet cubicle. I was surprised that the closest was in the bathroom but it makes sense and I liked it. I should comment on the cool decor which was very palm springs with unique art work and photographs in the room. There are two large pools that wind around a bit and surround a bar that you could swim up to if you wanted. There was even a sandy beach area although it was earmarked for kids (don't travel here if you don't like kids as it's definitely family friendly). Only negative I'd say is that the pool was shallow, probably 4 feet at its deepest. I've seen others comment on it being challenging to find loungers as people claimed them early, this wasn't a problem on a weekend in November but I did notice people claiming loungers then walking off for several hours which is annoying. There are two ping pong tables, two Foosball tables and two cornhole sets which was fun as my wife and I love to play games. Lots of fire pits too. The main restaurant Cava serves breakfast, platinum and higher members get a free contiwn buffet or can pay $10 more to upgrade to the full buffet. We also are dinner there one evening and our food was really good. They do happy hour from 3:30 to 6 with $12 cocktails some appie specials and a 3 course dinner for $29. My flat iron steak was delicious. Resort fee is $45 which I expected but charging another $28 for parking on top of that seems excessive. They do have a limited number of ev chargers for both Tesla's and others and that's free which was a nice bonus. Small quibbles: The wooden shut on our windows were cute but didn't keep the sun out. Our neighbor had their TV on most of the day and night, it wasn't loud through the wall but we could hear it and it was a mild annoyance. Overall an awesome stay and we'll definitely return. Almost forgot to mention that they also have bikes you can borrow for free as part of your resort fee. And all of the staff were very friendly.
