Great Hotel & Location for Visiting Quebec City

SeniorTravelTales (Oldsmar, Florida) on Sep 22, 2024

We selected Delta Hotel Quebec as it was a Marriott Bonvoy, its location wasnear Old Quebec, and our AAA program included Daily Breakfast. Location is very good just a couple of blocks from three gates to Old Quebec. Be ready it’s either uphill or downhill to the gates. The king room was very spacious and perfect for our stay. The hotel is under renovation (the hallways show the age but rooms were good.) On our visit renovations were in main reception area so didn’t really impact us. Breakfast each morning in the La Bistro was excellent. A wide selection of hot and cold breakfast items with lots of fresh fruit, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, and more. To get to the hotel rooms is a 2nd elevator process. One elevator goes to 3rd floor then next elevator goes to higher level floors. The hotel is 12 stories (I think 12).it is always easy to find in the skyline when we were walking the streets. It is located near the many government buildings of Quebec City. Plus, it is a block from Stop 6 on Hop on Hop off Bus. Overall, a very good hotel for our stay.

Lock all your stuff!! the Cleaning lady stole something!

Steven T (Moncton, Canada) on Aug 29, 2024

It was the second time; it will be my last! Their front desk/entree is freshly renovated. The front desk’s, checking, room, was great. On the second day, we were robbed in our rooms!! When we left in the morning, there was 3 phone chargers on nightstand and when we got back in the evening, one was missing. We checked everywhere in the room!! I went to the front desk to let them know, she told me, she will send a note to them and come back in the morning for a follow-up. So, in the morning here I was doing my check out and looking for an update. No note was left regarding my situation to anyone. The clerk, call the manager who came to talk to me.. I explained the situations, he told me that he was going to check, and investigate. He seems concerned, told he had never something stolen in his establishment. He was supposed to contact me back., I'm still waiting, it's been two days. Maybe, for them, it's just a phone charger and is not a big deal. For my wife and I is more than a phone charger, is a trust issue. Did the cleaning lady look in our suitcases. She probably fell in love with the girly look of my wife charger and said to herself is just a phone charger they will by a new one! Today, I feel I can’t no longer trust the Delta in Quebec. I was in Quebec until late that day, and to call me back, if not, I will put a review. So here it is! Marriott member for a long time, I will no longer stay at their, I will told everyone, to think twice before staying there!

Great Location!

Margalita4NJ (New Jersey) on Aug 24, 2024

My family (me, husband, 19 year old son) stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Location is good. You can walk to Old Quebec but the town is hilly so you might get tired faster. We'd walked and stop midway to rest and then continue to Old Quebec. Walking will take about 20-25 minutes and in August, it's hot! We'd used taxi from Old Quebec back to the hotel--not too expensive. I had one room with 2 double beds. Room size is good. Bed is comfortable and so is the temperature. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant but the prices seem reasonable. Hotel is a 5-minute walk to 2 streets full of shops and restaurants: Rue Grande Allee and Rue St. Jean. We ate at the Le Hobbit twice on Rue St. Jean, once for breakfast and once for dinner. We also ate at a couple of restaurants on Rue St. Jean. These 2 streets being so close to the hotel is really a plus! Rue St. Jean has a supermarket, drugstore, shops, and lots of restaurants. Rue Grande Allee has mostly restaurants. The week that we were there, these 2 streets were closed to traffic due to festivals so it was extra nice to stroll and check out everything. I recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Caveat Emptor

waltb971 (Sauble Beach, Canada) on Aug 13, 2024

Pool had to be drained as a result of algae infestation. Air conditioning in room was barely able to hold 26C/79F, even overnight the temp would not come down. We complained several times. No result. Room was not made up in spite of repeated requests.. finally a pleasant maintenance man came to clear the plugged shower drain (so gross!) and brought fresh towels. I raised all these issues with front desk and requested a discount or credit. I was told my concerns were valid, deserved redress and I would get a phone call from management… no such response forthcoming. Caveat Emptor!
