NEVER AGAIN! If you have kids don’t book!!!!! A lot of teenegarers doing drugs and offering it to the kids!!!

I rarely leave bad reviews, but this experience at Barceló Maya Caribe demands one. To start, the customer service was shockingly poor. Any time we had a question or issue (which was often), we were met wi...th eye-rolls and endless “I don’t know” responses. Manager Carlos Lopez was very unhelpful and coming up with different lies just to get rid of us. His boss „subdirector” Edwin was every worse, barely spoke English and when we were there to address our complaints he was super aggressive. The food made things even worse. Almost everything at the buffets was lukewarm at best, and I saw flies and birds picking at uncovered dishes several times. Gross. Also, if you have any kind of dietary needs, forget about it — the staff barely understood basic food allergy questions. Beach and pool areas were chaotic. You had to get up before sunrise to claim a chair, and even then half the loungers were broken or missing cushions. Loud, drunk groups made it impossible to relax, and the security staff seemed to do nothing about it. I expected an all-inclusive experience with great service and a little luxury — what I got felt more like an overpriced, overcrowded party hostel. Never again.

This was our third stay at Barcelo Beach resort. Just like our first two visits to Barcelo Beach the staff, the rooms, the food and overall experience was fantastic. We may have had a medical set back but ...the hotel staff went above and beyond our expectations and we were able to salvage the rest of our vacation. Tammy and I her husband are extremely grateful and we are already planning a return visit to Barcelo Maya Beach. Hopefully you and everyone at Beach will be hearing from us soon.
