DO NOT BOOK OVER PHONE
Raelyn K on Oct 06, 2024
I booked a room for the Lainey Wilson concert in September over the phone with their reservation company. The agent originally gave me the pricing in USD, which I have a US number but live in Canada so understandable. I checked my visa right after booking to realize it was a lot more then I intended to spend on a hotel so I called back within 20 mins of my booking to cancel. Spoke to another agent who confirmed my cancellation and that I would receive my refund. I still hadn’t seen my refund so called back the day we were heading to the concert to confirm that yes we are being refunded. The agent said no the cancellation has not been made and it is now past the date where I can cancel. I let the agent know that I have already booked a new place to stay and that I indeed already canceled on the same day I booked. He looked through the system and say oh yes I did cancel but there was an error in the system (obviously not my fault). I again stated I would not be coming to this hotel as I have another hotel booked to which they said ok yes we have opened an investigation and will refund you soon. Cut to went to the concert (she was great) to the second cheaper not very nice hotel. Did not come to this hotel, called back and spoke with another agent who told me my cancellation was denied because it was past the cancellation……. So not only did they not cancel my reservation they also charged me for the whole night and still haven’t rectified the issue on their end. Wow terrible customer service and I will be opening an investigation through my cc. Do not book with their reservation desk via phone they are HORRIBLE. My photos show the two calls as well as the reservation. The second call was to cancel. Yep still waiting on my refund.
Great hotel for Rocky Mountaineer travelers

The Hampton Inn and suites was a fine hotel to stay in before our Rocky Mountaineer train…one of the nicest Hampton Inns I have stayed at. The Rocky Mountaineer uses the 3rd floor ballroom to check you in the night before. Check-in was easy. We had a nice room and their was a bar with food downstairs. Easy walk to many places downtown. I would recommend…especially if you are taking the Rocky Mountaineer.
An excellent facility for couple and family

The hotel is located at the eastern end of Robson Street right across from the BC Place (home stadium for the BC Lions) within walking distance of downtown and right in the middle of all the shops and restaurants. It is also within 5 minutes walk from Costco and 10 minutes from three metro/ subway stations on two lines include the Skytrain from the airport. It is in a very clean and safe part of downtown although the crowd after a football game or concert can be substantial as BC Place can seat up to 54000 people. The hotel does not impress with its small, dark lobby but the rooms are exceptional. I highly recommend the suite with kitchen when available as it is the size of a small apartment with a full kitchen with two cooktops, a full size refrigerator, microwave and a dishwasher along with pots and pans, dishes and silverware for three. The living room is sizable with a sofabed and a work desk. The bedroom with a king bed is good size. Bathroom is standard Hampton Inn quality but highly functional. Lots of mirrors, closet inside and outside the bedroom and surprisingly a pair of robes I did not expect from Hampton Inn. Bed is comfortable. Pillows and beddings are fine. Housekeeping is efficient and friendly. Breakfast is college dormitory quality which is to say fair at best. But edible. Service staff is not particularly attentive but they do their job. Front desk staff are friendly. Don’t expect too much as a Hilton Diamond member as there was no acknowledgment and little upgrade. The status has lost much of its clout especially at the lower end of theHilton stacking order. Overall, this is an excellent hotel to consider especially if you have children. Just beware it can be quite expensive for a Hampton Inn due to its prime location.
Pricey but worked well for us

The price of this Hampton Inn was quite high compared to the usual. But maybe average price for the other hotels in the area, I didn’t check. They had a great little restaurant/bar on the bottom level. I’m not sure if it was owned by Hampton or just had an entrance from inside the Hampton to it. The food was good there. The breakfast was great, although a little crowded at breakfast time. The ice machine had a water bottle filler. That was a big plus. the view from the top floor or the exercise room and laundry room was amazing! The laundry was free and that was a big plus as we were planning to board our cruise and wanted to get the rest of our stuff clean, knowing we couldn’t do it on board. The front desk staff have great suggestions and sold us a few tickets for things to do around town. Stanley Park Capilano Suspension Bridge. Hop on and off bus. The Canada Place movie was amazing according to my dad who saw it. Lots to do within walking distance and there’s a grocery store right up the street. Tim Hortons right up the street with great coffee and cheap food. We enjoyed our stay.
Pleasantly surprised at a nice stay

I was honestly surprised at what a pleasant stay this was! We had 4 adults in a room and had plenty of storage space and room to move around. Beds were comfortable. WiFi was strong. Shower had good pressure and hot water. Breakfast was meh….but they usually are. There was coffee/tea available all day long and one of the floors had filtered water you could use to refill bottles. Fridge and kettle available. Location is great. Right next to stadium and easy walk to restaurants and to the shuttle for Capilano. Prices were crazy high, but it was a good pre-cruise option.
