Amazing Stay, strongly recommend!

We stayed at Ziva Cap Cana for 7 nights during the Holiday period and we had an amazing time. One thing that really stood out was how despite being at capacity, the place didn’t seem busy at all and we also had easy time finding room on beach, pool, restaurants, etc… Room – 5 of us (3 children 4, 8, and 11 yo) stayed in a Jr Suite room (2 queen beds + pull out couch) and it was comfortable. The hotel even supplied us with an extra cot. Room was cleaned the house keeping came by twice a day. There is a laundry service for extra charge (we didn’t use). Food – all the restaurants were great. Tempest (Japanese cooking table / Mongolian grill) was our favorite, but Noodle & Thread (Italian) was also excellent. The buffet was great for breakfast with tons of options. Lunch typically by the pool. If you get club service, you can just text your butler your order and he’ll bring it wherever you are. Food was high quality and no one had any GI issues. We didn’t try the Blind Butcher steak house as the extra cost seemed high especially given how good the good was at the other restaurants. The hotel also had a few special event dinner buffet like the Michael Jackson experience, which was excellent. There is a coffee place in the lounge that will make basically anything Starbucks does and we went there often. They also had ice cream and desserts which the kids loved. Alcohol – amazing bar service, they’ll basically make you any cocktail you can think of. Premium liquor like single malt scotch at the club bar, but all the bars really had good stuff. Fancy wines at the restaurants were extra but we really just stuck to cocktails. Pools – the main pool is huge and has a swim up bar. There are lots of activities by the pool. I recommend bringing floaties for the kids. The waterpark was great and never really busy so the kids went on the slides without ever waiting more than a minute. 4 big slides (one where you ride a tube), 4 smaller slides for the younger kiddies, and a big splash pad for the toddlers. The lazy river was one of the better I’ve seen with waterfalls splashing you which was fun. Beach – someone wrote that it wasn’t great and I don’t understand why. Clear sand with turquoise water. Lots of sitting area. You get free access to kayaks, paddle boards, and small sailing boats with lessons. There was even a batting cage which my son loved. There is also a beach soccer court which was fun for the kids. Kid activities – every night there is a movie for kids were they serve popcorn and treats. Our kids loved it. There was other fun stuff like kids painting on the beach, feeding the fish at the dock, Santa parade, make your own pizza. Overall we highly recommend.

Great family resort - activities for the kids and great entertainment in the evening. Food is very high quality and delicious and enough variety for an all-inclusive resort. Nearby to great golf. Fitness center the biggest and best of any resort hotel I have visited. Very friendly and accommodative staff.
