A fantastic hotel with brilliant service from the staff. Notably Daniel from guest services and Edi and Enrique the butlers! The restaurants are also amazing. Agave and el dorado are of particular high quality. We also did the culinary experience that is worth every peso.
Far exceeded expections

Visited for a wedding - I was nervous seeing the less than stellar reviews but this is actually one of the better resorts I have been to in Mexico. I honestly found myself confused at how people could possibly be having such a poor experience as it has been nothing less than amazing - I was Diamond Club though so maybe that affected things? The Diamond Club pool (where we spent most of our time) was not crowded at all and it was easy to get great chairs every day. The smell some people have described was just the mangroves - it's a very natural organic smell and was very minimal and only in some areas (some hallways, etc). The room was very comfortable and A/C worked great. Drinks were good and there is a great variety of premium liquor options if you are Diamond Club. They even had my favorite gin (Hendrick's!) and there was interesting rum & whiskey options. Food was average to above average. The buffet was actually really excellent and a bit above in quality what I would expect for an all inclusive buffet. The restaurants were good - I liked the Italian and Mexican restaurants - but I honestly might have been happier just going to the buffet every night. Ordered room service twice and both times it was great and arrived within 45 min. Staff were AMAZING and so kind and attentive. Efrain and David with the butler service were the best <3 And all of the Diamond Club pool staff and bartenders were so great (Hugo, Diana, Alfredo, and everyone else!). The wedding ceremony was cute and quick, the reception was held at the pavilion above the Italian restaurant and was awesome. It was well organized, the food and DJ were great, and they brought in a fun light up dance floor. My only criticisms (that I can think of): -The Royalton theater is quite loud at night so if your room faces it there will be noise until about 11pm-midnight -Any extras (spa, premium wine, retail store) were EXTREMELY expensive, don't forget your sunscreen at home!! -Sand flies on the beach can be quite bitey. Bring bug spray if you want to spend time on the beach I don't typically come to the Cancun side of Mexico but if I found myself here for another event I would definitely consider staying at this resort again.
