Good food, nice beach, average hotel

Pros:amazing food and drinks, and large rooms with comfy beds. Beautifull beach and location. Gabriella at the omlette bar was amazing. overal great servers and bartenders. Cons: no lobby bar and a genera...l lack of atmosphere. Ive been to mexico 7 times and this is the first resort that felt more like just an average hotel on a beach and not a resort. They had limited activities to do, no water sports like kyakes or boogy boards. I tried to join morning fitness classes as advertised but no one was ever there. And the gym set up is tiny. The sports bar felt like a kids club with a bar beside it. Small resort and felt like we were outnumbered by little kids. Maybe designate a no kid pool at some point. Would probably be good for a familly with kids but not a couple. Also there is a huge abodonned resort covered in graffity right beside beach palace thats an eye sore and kind of freaky.
Very nice but with a lot of disappointments

We spent a week at the beach palace Cancun. We really enjoyed the food and the excellent service. We feel that the employees love their work and really want to make customers feel good. We really liked t...he 24-hour food service as well as the sweets and coffee shop which is really fantastic. The room was also very beautiful with a large balcony and a large whirlpool bath included. No complaints about cleanliness. Despite all this we won't return to this hotel or any palace hotels. The Beach palace is old and needs renovation. We were informed that it would soon be closed for 7 months to be renovated. It really needs it. For example, on occasions it happened that the ventilation smelled like sewage in the room! Also the only restaurant where you can eat outside is the smokehouse. The main cafeteria is indoor which we find quite disappointing. There is no toilets near the beach and they need to install fixed umbrellas besides the chairs. But the most disappointment was to be trapped into a 90-minute presentation in another resort called Le Blanc, 10 minutes from the Beach Palace. We were taken into a detailed presentation of a membership package for 100 or 400 or 800! weeks of vacation for tens or hundreds of thousands of US dollars. The offer is take it or leave it and we had a lot of pressure to sign on the spot. We were insulted to have lost half a day of our vacation for this high-pressure pitch despite the fact that we were offered massages to attend this presentation.
