Went to the Mangrove 4 years ago. No issue. No complaints. Good time. No issues. Took the whole family this time around. Sorry to say, it is not the same place as before. First the totally ignored or ...placement request and put the three rooms all over the map. Nobody was close to each other. All of us on different buildings and different corners. The buffet had good food, put most of the time, we had to wait 5-10 minutes, just to get a plate. Finding seating was very very difficult. A lot of table, had not been cleaned and we were basically moving dirty dishes to other tables so we could a seat. It was like this all the time. Then we had to look for napkins and silverware. A lot of time, the cleaning staff didn't have much either. My wife and myself would go earlier then the family just to try and get seats for ourselves and our kids/grandkids. Still not easy to do. Booking alacart was difficult. App would say nothing available at 10:00 am when the bookings started. The front desk would say nothing available as well. Starting lining up at 9:30 am, but still had issues. Meanwhile when we went to the Steakhouse (food was good), it was over 1/2 empty. Same when we went to the Sicilian restaurant . I had to go to the front desk every morning to tell them our TV and Room Phone wasn't working as well as the internet. They would fix the problem (internet issue), but next morning everything not working again. Beach was fine, bring water shoes, a lot of stones getting in. Cabanas we found out where $20 per day. So sitting under umbrellas most of the time. A lot of umbrellas on the beach. But rarely did anyone come along to clean up glasses and stuff left behind. Found out also the the hotel next door was sharing the buffet with the Mangrove and using other facility of the resort. Basically and busy place, not enough staff, little evening entertainment. The place, in my opinion is a 3 star at most. Don't expect much more
