Joe at the concierge desk is next level! Booked last minute transport for me with car seats super last minute ! He was so kind about it ! Pool and beach are both beautiful and lunch poolside was really go...od! We booked a day pass after a cruise and can not recommend enough

Change your reservation if you want a nice quiet vacation by the pool. My kids spend most of vacation time at the pool so I called on purpose prior to arriving to ask about the construction and specificall...y the impact on the pool. I was told the pools weren’t impacted and it was only the north cabanas. Anyways, the pools themselves are open but the space outside the pool for chairs is cut in half. The construction blocks off all the seating area for about 60% of the pool. The hotel is sold out and everyone has to use a very limited amount of chairs. It’s incredibly crowded and in no way relaxing.

The hotel is nice but a terrible experience and will never stay again. Added this hotel for a day after getting off a cruise. Had to pay for early check in. No free wifi not even for Hilton Honors (never s...aw that before). No guest computer service unless you wanted to pay Fed Ex to use the computer room (even Motel 6 provides a guest computer/printer). Bar didn't open until 11:00 am. When it did two drinks were $52 and two beers were $26. Plus every purchase had a 20% gratuity added. Umm, a tip and the amount is at consumer discretion please. The beach was small, crowded and dirty. Stared at the back of a beach chair and couldn't even see the ocean. Plus the pool area was under full construction and all you heard all day was sawing and pounding. My wife said she caught herself tapping her foot to the construction rhythm instead of the music. All the pool chairs had towels on them at 9:30 am with 1/3 occupied. The hotel didn't enforce their own posted rule about removing towels on chairs vacant for 30 minutes or more. Guests should have been compensated for the loss of enjoyment. I called the staff to discuss some of these issues and they didn't care. Asked for a manager and they were all at lunch. Apparently, this place doesn't practice the Hilton HEART model (Hear, empathize, apologize, resolve and thank). Stayed at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort the day before our cruise and recommend that you stay there instead of the Diplomat. By contrast that place was outstanding in all respects. The Diplomat could use some advice from the GM there.

The front desk and beach staff offered superior service. With back to back reservations, they identified the gap and offered a solution before I even asked. My parents had a second room which they were abl...e to place just a few rooms away. The beach and activity staff were fun and friendly. My daughter and I loved the kayak rental that was included with the resort fee.

This was our second time staying at The Diplomat. It was a brief, less than 24 hours stay, but we made the most of our time there and it was fantastic! The staff were professional and courteous, and the pr...operty itself was gorgeous and extremely well-maintained. The views from our high floor, oceanfront room with balcony were stunning. The room itself was well-appointed, clean and modern. We also enjoyed our evening dining at the Playa Restaurant located onsite and a moonlit stroll of the beach afterwards. We didn’t have an opportunity to swim in the pools but can say from visual observation they were also very well maintained with a great feel of luxury around the pool decks. The single issue we were not anticipating was that our vehicle was oversized and wouldn’t fit in the parking garage affiliated with self and valet parking. As a result, some on-the-spot chaos took place and we had to pay extra for VIP parking which could accommodate the size… it was maybe $5 more than the valet cost and the upside was that our vehicle was retrieved the next day far quicker than it would’ve been had we used valet.
