Buyer be Aware

Nomad52413744148 on May 28, 2025

Buyer be aware. I booked 2 Bay rooms almost 2 months prior to my arrival only to learn that the area of the building was called Bay ...but there was no bay or view of a bay. Not a good way to start a busin...ess trip. This is definitely as misleading as misleading can be. Our room was located at the very end of a horse shoe shaped complex with a very large pool area and water slides in the center …and yes, with the loud music playing and the yelling and screaming that goes on when kids are having fun. Perhaps they should consider calling it Kids Cove. Not a good setting for conducting business. I informed the front desk to please change our rooms since this is a very large hotel with many other areas not located in front of the kid’s pool but they informed me that I had booked a Bay Room (This is when I learned it was the name of the hotel area) and that they had no more rooms available ...very strange to believe considering is a large hotel, considering I’m a Hyatt Member since 2010 and had even booked our stay using my Amex Platinum Card. On top of these, I was charged $40 dollars a night for overnight parking, plus an additional $40.00 Hotel resort fee (This must be for the free loud Music Experience), plus a Visitors tax, a Newport Beach tax, and Tourism Assessment fee. So be prepared to pay an additional third of the cost of the advertise room rate for all of these other taxes and fees. If you are not from California and are not aware of how heavily they tax you there …you will feel ripped off by the time you leave. I do not write reviews but felt compelled to write about this experience. Quite different than the experience I just had at the Hyatt in Milan where I had just come from the week prior.

The BEST Experience in Newport Beach – A Perfect Birthday Stay! ?????

kristine h (Santa Clarita, California) on May 26, 2025

I made a BIG mistake... by only booking one night! I should have stayed the whole weekend. This hotel is absolutely beautiful – everything from the food to the atmosphere made our stay unforgettable. The ...breakfast buffet was incredible. My family especially loved it, and the omelet chef made the best omelet I’ve ever tasted. The steak and eggs were perfectly cooked – the chef really knows what they’re doing! We were celebrating my birthday, and the hotel surprised me with a cake and a handwritten card. The cake was light, delicious, and honestly one of the best I’ve had. The pool and spa were very relaxing, and the staff were all so friendly and welcoming. My dog also had a great time – this place is super dog-friendly and perfect for walks. Plus, they even had a car charger for my Tesla! We felt so spoiled and taken care of – truly a luxury experience. Next time, we’re definitely staying longer. Highly recommend!

Fun filled family place

Great facility that includes three pools, free Pickleball and a free pitch and putt golf course! The valets and staff are friendly and helpful. Gannon was awesome! Great vacation and family spot! The r...ooms were very clean and the restaurants nearby were incredible. Sol (steak fajitas), Zinc Cafe, Sugarfish (sushi) and Jan’s Health Bar were awesome! Fashion Island close by is also a big plus!

Great Activities for families

jeffsH3398MS on May 24, 2025

The rooms are a little dated as the hotel is a little older however, the staff and amenities are great. You have access to a par 3 golf course and pickle ball which is great. We didn't eat at the hotel muc...h, but the food we did get was pretty solid. We will be back for sure.

Nice centrally located hotel.

BethAnnSH123 on May 22, 2025

Very nice property. I was at a conference so I didn’t get to really enjoy the amenities but there were several lovely pools and the walk to and from my room was lovely with flowers and other foliage. I had... a nice private patio with chairs and a table. There weren’t many food options on site. The bar had the same lunch—although fewer quick to get choices—as the only restaurant and they were pricy. The room was nice but only had paper coffee cups. It would have been nice to have something else to drink a glass of water or wine from. Parking is expensive, so I was glad I took an Uber.
