Dreams delivered on our hope to experience paradise

Michael P on Apr 11, 2025

We booked our trip through Costco travel hoping for a perfect getaway…. Dreams delivered above and beyond all expectations. Let me start by saying, the airport was the only negative of our experience. Up...on arrival, you have to walk past many, MANY hustling time-share salesman that try to con you into going to one of their presentations. Once we realized what was going on, we simply walked away and found the ground transportation that we had booked. Even our driver made a comment about the time-share guys. However, from that point on, it was simply amazing. We were greeted by every single staff member every single time we crossed paths. Our butler, Noemi, was friendly, attentive and extremely welcoming. The premises were top notch and impeccably maintained… cleaning clean windows, waxing already shiny floors, painting perfectly painted areas. Nothing that got in the way of enjoying our vacation. You can tell they intend on keeping paradise looking like paradise. We ate at almost all of the restaurants on site. They all offered reasonably good food considering it is an all-inclusive. We had some amazing servers at all of the restaurants. Funny, welcoming and attentive. All spoke English very well and would strike up conversation and were genuinely interested in me and my family. The gym facility was well-equipped for a resort setting and my wife and I were able to get in very good lower and upper body weight lifting workouts using their equipment. It did get crowded in the morning, so we just went an hour earlier and it was pretty empty. We took advantage of their spa service. We had hydrotherapy and a couples massage and it was incredibly therapeutic. The spa was everything we could have asked for. We felt luxurious Room service was on-point and always stealthed in while we were away to clean and perform turn down service. My wife celebrated her birthday while we were there and they decorated the room and left her a gift to help celebrate. The pool area and the beach area were immaculate and we were able to find open sun chairs, even if we had to scout for a couple minutes to find a couple open ones…which we expect at a busy resort. The beach was beautiful but there are a lot of vendors looking to sell excursions. We booked horseback riding through one of them, Jesse. He was amazing too!!! He took us into the jungle horseback riding and we swam and dove in a waterfall. He then took us to lunch at an off site restaurant that the food was absolutely amazing and authentic. My wife and I decided to help him out again when we decided to go parasailing. Such a cool experience. We booked our adult daughter an excursion to Las Caletas through the hotel and her and her boyfriend had an amazing experience there. We booked a cab to the boardwalk area and found the city to feel safe and beautiful. The locals were almost as welcoming as the hotel staff, and that says a LOT about the locals. We left the premise by foot to shop the nearby village and the people there were also extremely friendly and helpful. All spoke English fairly well and accepted USD. It’s sad that so many people are afraid to come to Mexico based on fears. I felt safer in Puerto Vallarta than I ever would in US cities. My wife and I are going to have a hard time deciding on our next vacation as Puerto Vallarta was simply that amazing. We will certainly travel to other locations, but we both wish to return at some point in the future, perhaps during whale season. If you are considering a trip to Dreams or Secrets Vallarta Bay, consider no more. If you like to travel, you must experience Puerto Vallarta. And if you like all inclusive resorts, Dreams or Secrets can deliver on your wish to experience paradise.

Great Stay for second time

Anthony E (Minneapolis, Minnesota) on Apr 10, 2025

Great views and every room has a ocean view. Kids pools were nice and my 4 year old daughter loved the water slide. Very good service at the pool and the food pool side was very good for an all inclusive.... Have to wait in line for teppanyaki restaurant the morning you want to eat there and there are limited seat. people line up 45 min before being able to make reservations. Overall service is great and kept clean throughout. Rooms have good space and like that they have both tub and shower in rooms.

Excellent family stay at Dreams

AlexanderM1728 on Apr 10, 2025

We had an amazing stay at the Dream Vallarta Bay Resort. The food was excellent and everyone could find something great at the buffet. Everything was immaculately clean. We stayed in the preferred Club and... were attended to by Noemi. She was amazing and went above and beyond for us daily, dinner reservations, bellhop service, dietary accommodations for our child she did it all. Some of the other reviews complained about the noise and yes you can hear the nightlife from the room but it's gone at a reasonable hour and didn't disturb our children (6)&(2) at all. Great experience and we will be back.

Fantastic Location and Exceptional Service Made My 50th Unforgettable at Dreams Vallarta Bay!

Kendra L on Apr 09, 2025

I would really give Dreams a 4.5 but that isn't an option so I rounded up to a 5 ;-) I recently celebrated my 50th birthday with a group of friends at Dreams Vallarta Bay from April 3rd to 7th, and while... the resort might have a touch of classic charm, the outstanding location and truly exceptional service made our stay absolutely wonderful. From the moment I arrived, the check-in process for my Preferred Club room was a breeze. Getting into my spacious and clean King bedroom early (a fantastic bonus!) set the tone for a relaxing trip. While the room had a slightly dated aesthetic, it was comfortable, the bed and pillows were great, and the hot water was always reliable – all the essentials for a comfortable stay. The location of Dreams Vallarta Bay is truly a standout feature. Being able to step right out of the resort and into the vibrant city, with the Romantic Zone and Malecon just a short walk or quick taxi ride away, was incredibly convenient for exploring everything Puerto Vallarta has to offer. While the dining options had some variability, the service across the board was consistently excellent. I frequented the Carnival buffet, which offered a sufficient selection for an all-inclusive, though the drink service could be a tad slow at times. Dinner at Capers Italian restaurant was a highlight, with delicious food and impeccable service, even if the menu was a bit limited. Lunch at Castaways seafood was good, providing a nice beachfront option. The drinks at the bars were typical of all-inclusive resorts – not overly strong but certainly refreshing. The pool areas were well-maintained, though perhaps a little on the smaller side. The beach, while having some pebbles (water shoes recommended!), offered ample chairs and shaded areas. The easy access to water sports vendors was a plus for those seeking adventure. While I didn't personally participate in the resort's activities or entertainment, and the "nightclub" wasn't my favorite (DJ's song choices could use an update!), the overall positive atmosphere of the resort more than compensated. The true gem of Dreams Vallarta Bay is undoubtedly its staff. Every single person I encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely helpful. A special mention must go to my room butler, Jair! He was absolutely wonderful, always available via text for any assistance or recommendations for exploring the city. His attentiveness truly elevated my experience. The resort even surprised me with a lovely touch for my 50th birthday – a slice of cake and a bottle of champagne delivered to my room! It was a thoughtful gesture that made me feel appreciated. My friends also thoroughly enjoyed their stay, with the convenient location being a major plus for everyone. The only minor hiccup they experienced was a temporary water outage in a few of their rooms, but it was resolved. Overall, Dreams Vallarta Bay offers excellent value for an all-inclusive resort in such a prime location. While it might not be the most modern resort, the cleanliness, fantastic location, and above all, the exceptional service from a genuinely caring staff made my 50th birthday celebration in Puerto Vallarta truly memorable. I would absolutely recommend this resort, particularly the Dreams side for families or those seeking a slightly more budget-friendly option, while the adjacent Secrets side offers an upgraded, adults-only experience. Thank you, Dreams Vallarta Bay, for a wonderful trip!

Average Experience

Heidi M on Apr 07, 2025

We travelled here at the end of March/early April with my family and some friends. Pros: - Some of the most beautiful sunsets I have ever seen. - The resort isn't overly large so it doesn't take a long ...time to get to where you are going. - The pool service was always great, the staff were very attentive, polite and had great personalities. - The premium liquor was great. - The room service was great as well. Our order was always spot on and the food was always fresh. Cons: - This resort is extremely loud. There was at least one wedding on site every night. Because it is a small resort, the screaming, music, and fireworks were incredibly loud and went until 11pm. Many nights our kids woke up scared due to the screaming and fireworks. - We booked preferred club, however, there were not a lot of additional perks with it. We didn't have a preferred club pool, there were no wrist bands showing that we were preferred club, and our butler service was extremely scarce. We asked for a dinner reservation on two nights, and he only made one, only sent itineraries part of the time, etc. - Food options were average, it would have been nice to have more options. - The kids club advertises to 10pm, however we were at a dinner and received a message that they close at 9:30 at 9:29pm and had to pick up our kids. We had to leave our dinner early to go get them, even though the sign at the kids club, the website and all other information says 10pm. - The beach is unusable, it's very strong surf that is dangerous for kids, there are rocks in the sand at the water level and there were vendors everywhere.
