We have just arrived back from this wonderful hotel. We had an amazing holiday. Room was lovely - spacious and clean. We were concerned when we arrived that the air conditioning wasn’t very cold, but it was cold enough, and gave a comfortable sleeping temperature. We downloaded the app prior to arrival, checked in online 10 days before arrival and booked all of our al a carte dinner reservations before we arrived. We managed to get one for every night of our stay, the slots come up sporadically, so just keep trying at different times and you will be fine. All the food in the al a carte restaurants, was really good. You can book as many times during your stay as you like, and in our opinion they were all good with Don Pablo gourmet being our favourite (men do need to wear long trousers here though). We ate in the buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch. More or less the same options every day, but all food good. I can’t comment on the food in the buffet in the evening, as we only ate there on the first night. We did order room service for lunch on one day. We pre-ordered the day before and it turned up on time and was exactly what we ordered. We were very impressed with the quality of this. Pool areas are great and kept very clean. There are two pools in the adult only side, the noisy pool where all the entertainment goes on, and the quiet pool. We preferred the quiet pool, but thought it was great to have the option of both. Marien at the swim up bar at the quiet pool was so amazing. Always served you with a smile and was so friendly and lovely. Cocktails were good and they will make you anything you ask for, even if it’s not on the menu. Evening entertainment was low key in the adult only side, and the only downside I would say is that the bar areas are all open, so no air conditioning and are quite warm. Mosquitoes are rife here, so make sure you pack a plug in and strong mosquito repellent spray and also bite cream. I don’t normally get bitten, but did here. It was much better when I started to spray every evening before I went out for dinner. We did however see people with quite nasty bites. Overall we had a really lovely holiday. I can’t fault the hotel at all and I would definitely consider returning in the future.

We stayed there in June for two weeks. Highlights were: great hotel, plenty of food choices including a la carte restaurants which you could book into every night with no limits on no of visits, clean, great gardens and pool areas. A special shout out must go to the staff who made our holiday fantastic: the lovely Patricia in the bar, Joaquim at breakfast, Pedro at the beach bar and the lady whose name I've forgotten (sorry! - she wears braces) who assisted us at breakfast and in the Don Pablo restaurant and Emilie on reception. All were super helpful and smiling throughout. Booked for a treatment at the Spa which was fab too. We did a trip to Catalina island which was amazing and meant that we got to experience the white beaches and turquoise seas you associate with the Carribeans (It does make it clear that the hotel beach has a river flowing into it and that jelly fish are present so we were indeed unable to go and swim whilst in the hotel but that said, we spent every day at the beach which was really clean and were only a few feet away from the pool). Only one downside - Rosanna from the entertainment team was very rude to us one day and proceeded from that point onwards to ignore us - no idea what that was about. She even went so far as to greet friends and ignore us when all 4 of us were together. Rosanna - do better! You let your team members down by doing so!

TLDR; don’t bother. Would never come back here. The place is so overhyped, they don’t know what hospitality is, unsafe and unsanitary rooms, garbage customer service, slow room service, if you don’t speak Spanish you will not have a good time as they pick favourites. ————————————————————- Our experience: we came here for our honeymoon as we were overwhelmed by the positive reviews we seen. But let me tell you, it was nothing as the reviews said. I’ve put down some of our experiences that we had. Feel free to ask me any more questions. 1. Liars, lazy, will do anything to get out of doing something - Came here for our honey moon, specifically requested for something special in the room; they blatantly stated, we used to do flower petals but we no longer do anything. Fast forward a day, (after we moved rooms) we find banners on every other door for everyone who is celebrating something. 2. Pathetic customer service - specifically their customer service manager (Jose Rafael). Does not understand hospitality and refuses to take responsibility for all the mess ups and mistakes caused by his team that is undertrained and basically quite useless. 3. Room service is absolutely garbage - we ordered specific things and specifically mentioned that we do not eat pork, for breakfast and lunch all of our food came with some sort of pork related item on it. If that’s not bad enough, we had to wait over an hour and a half for the food to arrive to our room and over 2 hours for them to come pick up their garbage food. 4. Rooms were unsafe and unsanitary. We were placed into their newest building; the first room had an ant infestation on the balcony and water leaking from a light fixture in the bathroom. Wasted an entire day arguing with them to move us to another room. Second room was fine no issues 5. Booked this romantic dinner thing that’s supposedly was the best. The food was mid at best, the staff doesn’t understand or know how to take orders. They constantly came and asked us what we wanted (even tho we specifically requested everything when we booked) and they still messed it up and got every single part of the meal incorrect. 6. If you do decide to go, make sure you’re firm as you will be constantly harassed by their “prestige club team” & their beach sales people Noteworthy Don’t bother with this place, way way way over hyped. Only good thing about this place was how friendly their entertainment staff is. Rooms ant manifestation in my balcony, leaking water from an electrical light fixture, horrid room service in its entirety (speed, food quality and service) Nearby Activities Nothing nearby unless you get into an Uber/join their excursions - the team here won’t tell you about it either and will tell you the only way to get out of here is via their ridiculously expensive taxi service or the excursions Safety They have zero understanding of what safe procedures are. Our room was leaking water from the light fixture and they were super nonchalant about it Food and drinks Bland and undercooked food. Can’t ever get anything right Zero variety same buffet everyday

Luxury Bouganville April 5-14 /2024 ( 9 day stay ). LATE REVIEW oops We have stayed here twice, and plan on going again next year. Aimed at a 30 plus age group ( we are an early 40's couple ) .Its a perfect blend of fun and relaxation. The rooms could use a little refresh getting dated , but very clean . the ground and rest of the hotel is in excellent condition spotless and updated . Pools are spotless always seating for everyone ( loungers , canopies , umbrellas ) . All three pools areas are very enjoyable. ( So depending on the mood of the day , you have lots of selection :) ) Beach is amazing quiet great for early morning walks or late night strolls. ( water is not typical Caribbean waters but still an amazing private beach ). Tons of beach loungers with shade or full sun if wanted ( best of both worlds ). Restaurants are superb reservations were flawless when ordering through the app one week PRIOR to vacation. Don Pablo and Takara were our favorites but we had no complaints from any of them which we tried them all, a few twice :). Bouganville entertainment was a bit lite we would say but , drinks were flowing so it was good for us. Smoking area which was a huge group of people were kind of tucked away and had poor viability of the entertainment which was a bummer. ( If they just changed the direction of the stage a bit everyone could enjoy ) Burger Principe was a great way to the end of the night if you had a few too many bubbly’s ( late night munchies ) or you could just call room service and choose from a small menu very adequate. We have been to the Caribbean many times and bouganville dollar for dollar is the best vacation by far. Definitely a 9/10 we took one point off due to rooms a bit dated ( Block 55 ) and the Bahia Principe app being a bit glitchy when ordering room service. Such a great resort we are excited to go back and do it all over again Cheers D&T

Rooms were ?? outdated. 1st room they switched us due to a latrine, poop smell coming straight up from the bathtub, so they switched us to another room with a big water leak from sink and the fridge did not work. The food is okay. The only beer they have is presidente light which tasted gross. If you want a Coors light it’s $5.00 per beer, guess that frugal beer is considered premium. This place is not luxury though. Room service is a nightmare, ordered a ham cheese and got a boil egg sandwich??? 2 hours later. Some staff members are nice though, shoutout to Fabio, Mayelin, Hector, Marcio, Mary, Ana and Mario for great service. Thank you!
