The Japanese restaurant was so good! Roberto is hilarious and so kind! Made memories for a lifetime! Definitely come 10/10. Coming back again and again! The staff were so kind and the room we stayed in was... beautiful. The beach and pools were gorgeous. As well as the water park.

The Sirenis Punta Cana resort and Aquagames is an excellent choice for families with young children. We chose this resort because wehave been to the Cuba Sirenis (review avail). The DR location is a soli...d 4.5 star, lively resort with comfortable rooms and a wonderful beach. There is always something to do and you can’t go hungry with so many dining choices, including buffets, snack bar at lunch, ready serve pizza, 9 à la carts, and a late-hour food truck as well as coffee shop and 24-hour sports bar. Top highlights: - Beach & ocean is lovely! Take long strolls or just relax. There are plenty of loungers and shade. - Service at restaurants and breakfast buffets is extremely friendly. Elevate your experience by getting to know the staff (by name) and thanking them for their service. - Plenty of activities for kids and adults. Use the resort’s mobile app to view the schedule once onsite. - The Plaza (smoking permitted) is a unique area in front of the resort for late night entertainment, drinks and visit to the food truck. - Waterpark is a bonus amenity. It is a short walk or trolly ride away and inclusive in your package. Drawbacks: - Farther distance from airport (and therefore excursions) than Bavero beach resorts. Best to arrange direct private transportation (45 min) to avoid a long shuttle ride with multiple stops. - Pool is large but lacks adult waist deep space, especially around pool bar that could use a facelift to make it more appealing and functional. Bring floaties to fully enjoy the 6-8 foot depth. - Insufficient number of bathrooms from beach / pool area. Here’s the detailed scoop… Layout (10/10) The resort consists 2 and 3 story buildings, #11-22 (Ccoctal side with spacious standard rooms) on the right from lobby and #32-48 on the left (Tropical suites side where family rooms and, closest to the beach, members buildings are). There are other rooms above the lobby area as well. The resort is somewhat accessibility-friendly with ramps, handicap bathroom stalls, and offers a beach wheelchair; however, buffet counters (especially at snack bar) are high and out of reach (even for kids). The lobby has 2 bars and serves as a (no-smoking) hub for guests, has 2 reception desk areas (one exclusively for Expedia guests) and a members lounge. During the evening, there is always live entertainment (musicians, DJ, silent dance party etc). There is also a kid kart and specialty drink bar set up after dinner. Standard king room (9/10) Sleeping quality was excellent. Our room had a king sized bed, shower with rain head and hand held nozzle (+shampoo / body wash), a pullout sofa, seating area with 2 pleather chairs, as well as a mini fridge, drip coffee maker, in-closet safe, iron, and hair dryer. The A/C worked well in combo with single speed room fan. We didn’t use the flat screen TV. Furnishings and bathroom were modern with minor wear and tear. Rooms have USB charging and standard wattage electrical outlets, so no converters are required. There is plenty of closet space and hangers, but no dresser drawers except for side tables. There were two robes and slippers in our closet for use during our stay. Our bathroom was too small for two people to use at the same time; there is a single sink / lit mirror only with little counter space and no weight scale. We had hot water, great pressure / drainage and good toilet flushing. Fridge contained pop, water and beer and was replenished every time we had our room cleaned, which was done well and promptly early in the day. Balcony had 2 plastic patio chairs and table (and ashtray). We faced the theatre, and after 10:30pm it was ver quiet. Despite asking to be close together (on booking months in advance and upon arrival), we were in different buildings on opposite sides of the resort. Not all rooms in the same category are alike (different layouts, some with bathtubs others with walk-in showers). The couple who also booked a standard king room was given a partial ocean view close to the beach, which had an awkward layout, especially the corner shower. Theirs had a double sink though and they enjoyed early morning coffee and their balcony view in lieu, so no major complaint. Our friends who booked a family room preferred the layout / size of our room. Theirs had 2 beds (rather than king) in an area that was separated by sliding doors with the other half having 2 pull out sofas; however because they were placed in a L-shape, only one could be used as a bed whilst blocking the use of the second sofa. Good choice for a family of 4, but a tight fit (TV area) if using the pullout. Pool (7/10) The resort has 1 large pool parallel and close to the beach. There is also wading pools and only one lifeguard on duty. Guests tended to gravitate to the one side of the pool where it was more shallow and closest to the lunch buffet rather than the deepest portion of the pool. Some minor upkeep to replace pool tiles is needed, but otherwise it was clean and very warm. Pool side activities include aqua fitness, water sports for kids as well as a foam party (Saturday). Waterpark (9/10) has 6 slides of varying thrills and lunch buffet (also non-alcoholic drinks + beer). They are strict with swimwear, no jewellery and height requirements. There are also 2 kid areas with slides, sprays, bucket dumps and a small pool with waterfall. It is just as safe as ones we have in Canada, however, there were some who complained of feeling the seams (of yellow slide) and getting minor abrasions (if you don’t tuck in your elbows on racing slides). Towels (with your card) and lockers (U$5) are available onsite and this is where the Escape Room (U$25 pp) is located. Beach (10/10) Be sure to enjoy the sunrise at least once during your trip! Beach is a walkers dream. Enjoy the soft sand (for many miles / kms) or cool off in the beautiful blue ocean (waves were mild/green flag to moderate/yellow flag while we were there). No need for water shoes. Respect do not swim zones. Lifeguards (2) will warn you (whistle), if entered. There are plenty of loungers on the beach with shade and they do get snatched up early (630am). Pool loungers, especially on the deep side, were easier to get throughout the day. There is no drink service on the beach (not sure about the pool since we didn’t spend a lot of time there). Go to the bar at the beach snack shack or beside the! lunch buffet near the pool. Drinks tended to have quite a punch with more alcohol than we would get at home and frozen drink mixes were sugary. Beach activities include volleyball, aerobics, yoga and also salsa lessons. No seaweed, sand fleas or mosquitoes to contend with while we were there. Food (9/10) Special shout out to Anna, Viktor lake, Jeffery and Chef Franci for taking care of us and making our dining experiences exceptional. Our favourites were the steakhouse (T-bone steak) and Brazilian (appetizer bar) whereas our least favourite menu was the French even though service, presentation and ambulance was top-notch. As a person with a food intolerance, I had to be extra careful about utensil usage / cross contamination. Unlike other resorts we have been to, we were never asked about food allergies except at the Japanese (also a great experience). The main buffets (9/10) Food options are above average for an all inclusive, offering an omelet bar at breakfast, pasta bar during lunch, grill stations, fresh fruit, vast cured meats, cheeses and salads, and so much more. Amazing presentation, kept clean, and replenished promptly. There were vegan and gluten free choices. With the resort being at capacity while we were there, sometimes clean plates and silverware were in short supply (especially during lunch by beach) and often there were not enough serving thongs / spoons. A-la-cartes Restaurant reservations (for the week) can be done through your concierge or day-of via app. Preferred times (7-8pm) were often a challenge to get. Food truck (10/10) Enjoy burgers, hotdogs, french fries, chicken, wings, or tacos. All made fresh on order. The resort is home to many cats, and by the pond you will find ducks, white goose and large Koi fish. You may even get a glance at the resort’s Peacock near the French restaurant. Members Have exclusive rooms, beach areas, and top shelf alcohol. Golf carts are exclusively for members. You can learn more by attending a breakfast pitch. Room service There is a very limited room service menu in the all inclusive, however, there are several additional options if you are willing to pay extra. Entertainment (9/10) We have been to many all inclusive resorts in Cuba, Jamaica, Mexico, and the DR. The evening shows here are the best we have seen. Don’t miss the Circus, Michael Jackson, or the Greatest Showman! Tips and tricks - Gratuities in either US dollars or DR pesos are appreciated. We tipped drivers, bartenders, servers and cleaning staff and also brought inexpensive goodies / gifts to share with housekeeping, gardeners and local vendors. - There is no building better located than another in relation to amenities - it’s really a personal preference about whether you want to be closer to the pool/beach or lobby, the buffet /most restaurants and evening activities. Regardless of where you are situated, expect some walking (approx 500 steps / 5 min walk from beach to lobby). - Bring a travel mug to keep your drinks cold and minimize trips to the bar. - Pack sand toys and your snorkelling mask to see a variety of fish by coral patches (left side of snack bar). Entice them with bread. - There is a Dominica Walmart (a.k.a. souvenir shop) immediately to the left and another if you walk right about 15 minutes to the right. Don’t be afraid to negotiate (often to 25% of asking). Here you will also find several massage on the beach establishments for US$35-45 for 1 hour (tips expected). - When you book via Expedia, you have an exclusive check-in desk as well as a dine on the beach experience. There is very little this resort can do to improve. It’s impossible to be disappointed, unless you are an extremely picky traveller and expect ultra-luxury. Pet peeves: - Key cards are inconvenient; time for this resort upgrade to bracelets. - Warning: If you lose your towel (or it is taken by another guest), the hotel charges you $20 for a replacement. Have clips as it can be windy at the ocean. - Guest bad behaviour: wasting food, not cleaning up after themselves, smoking in non-designated areas / leaving cigarettes butts in the sand on beach, and reserving loungers without using them for hours. - Black birds by pool buffet and beach (presence of poop on loungers and picnic tables, as well as duck droppings by the pond). - Bees around garbage and abandoned drinks (especially at Waterpark). We were sad to leave this paradise and would definitely go back!
